Please steer clear of G.A.A. Services and Ghassan Atieh.
He is a scamster.
I have learnt it the hard way.
He signed a contract to refinish my wooden floor, new molding, redo my two bathrooms, paint interiors, install & paint stair bannisters, lay tiles in foyer etc.
Results:
Bathrooms-Bath 1 -New bathtub installed inclined. Water pools where tub corner meets wall leading to water damage.
Drywall installed improperly. Also installed drywall over a/c vent. So no more heat in my bathroom.
Cabinet installed with screws visibly poking outside. New window installed, but did not install molding despite it being part of contract.
Tiles installed improperly. Used cheap connectors in plumbing, already leaking within 4 months.
Bath 2-Work not started.
Paint-Poor finishing, no sanding or primer done before applying paint.
Wooden floor- Big gaps between wood planks. Edges left undone, my kids cut their feet where the wood met the tiled floor.
Bannisters - Improper installation. Nails coming out of the bannisters/railings. Kids cut their hand against the nails on the railings. Not painted.
Foyer- Left incomplete
Installed two doors. He did this before removing the existing old carpet. As a result, after the carpet was removed and the wooden floor underneath the carpet refinished, there is a huge gap at the bottom of the doors.
Discussing with the workers revealed that he was getting day-laborers everyday for the job.
He would leave the laborers at my house and go work somewhere else.
These unsupervised laborers had no clue how to do the work. Sometimes they asked me, the homeowner, for tools.
Ghassan took advance payments from me for the work. I also paid for the bathtub and a whole lot of fixtures when he took me to Homedepot to select them.
He asked me to deduct those from the last (10%) payment at the end of the job.
Well, he took payments from me for 90% of the job.
He has left most of the work incomplete, and some parts not started.
Ghassan and his workers have left trash and debris in my garage and on the deck.
The debris left on the deck soaked up in the rain. My son developed breathing problems because of this.
I had to hire a dumpster and remove it myself.
I have been trying in vain for the past 6 months to get him.
He refuses to answer phone calls and emails.
Now, I have paid him 90% of the money.
The work is either not started, partially done, or done improperly.
I have to hire someone else to redo the entire project.
Please don't burn your hands with him like I did.
