Gala is an online internet game where multiple players log into interact with one another. Although they say they are free to play, people pay money to the company/purchase company 'gpotatos' which are used to purchase items that can be used in game. This complaint is focused around the issue of idnidviduals who are playing the game being 'hacked'. What this means is that individuals will log in and find their characters deleted, items gone, and so forth. The company has done nothing to respond to the concerns of the players or to actively fight this sort of abuse, despite people purchasing items with currency. So they take our money, but will not support individuals by returning these items in a timely fashion/if ever. Despite repeated complaints this has continued to occur. It is suspected that individuals from within the company are doing this and profiting by selling items in game for in game dollars which they then sell to players via supposedly non related websites and thus make real currency out of pixel currency.

The game developers and management are failing to protect the consumer and their negligence is leading to further theft.

Today, Rennn from Fenrir server in Rappelz, was hacked. Besides items, they stole approximately 8000 gpotatos.. a product he purchased with cash assumng the company's website would be safe and secure.

This may not seem like a lot, but approximately ten million play this companies games and if you consider how many are being hacked, that's a lot of money the company is permitting thieves to get thier hands on while allowing the re-victimization of its victims to continue.

I am concerned that by knowingly allowing their system to be vulnerable to these sorts of attacks and such behavior is knowingly endangering the consumers and the money the consumers invest in the game and therefor is against the law. It's thievery at it's best, disgusting and immoral business practices at its worst.
