Rip off
I have a few Nintendo Wii games that have been barely used. I went to the Game Stop website to see what they were selling them for USED and then I called my nearest store to get trade in values and below is the result. As of 5/9/09 at 12 Noon EST, the website listed the used games at: Mario Party 8 $44.99. They said trade in value was 16.00 Super Paper Mario $39.99 They said trade in value was 13.00 When I called the store and got the trade in values and told the girl that was ridiculous and listed the online used prices all the store employee could say was 'I know'!!! So they know that we are being ripped off! Avoid this store at all costs. No Customers, means no more store to rip us off! There are other places to sell your games yourself. Use them!

Gift Receipt Fraud
I purchased a game for $59.99 and asked for a gift receipt. Later realized I purchased the wrong game and could only find the gift receipt. Went with the gift receipt to exchange for the correct game. When they processed the transaction they said I was only getting $39.99 for the game that I purchased for $59.99. I had to pay another $20.00 for the new game. I proceeded to find the original receipt and went to Game Stop to ask them why the gift receipt was not showing up as $59.99. They never really explained why the gift receipt didn't show up as $59.99, but returned my original purchase and re-purchased the item at $39.99.
I thought the whole reason for gift receipts is so they hold the price you paid, without giving the person an original receipt. I have the receipts and if I can attach later I will try. Total Scam...

Selfishness
Basically I go to the Gamestop closest to my house to search for a game I've wanted for years. They tell me that the next closest one, three miles away, has it. So I go on my bicycle, all three miles, to see if I can get it. The two sales associates not only say they have it, but they show it to me with it's prequels. However they said that they can't sell them to me. Something about a holding period and even after that holding period a new employee has "dibs" them BEFORE THEY WERE EVEN ON THE SHELVES FOR CONSUMERS TO SEE! So where is the fairness in that? What ever happened to "the customer is always right"

Horrible Customer Service
I'm tired of dealing with this company and will no longer be using them as my computer games retailer. Recently I bought a game at one of their stores. When I got home, which is a great distance, I realized they put the wrong disc into mybox. I had to drive back out there. I get hte game again and when I get home they gave me another wrong game. The best they could do for me was say come back out. No appology.
Another time I went there with my brother looking for a rockband footpetal. He asked the guy at the register if they had any. He said I could look for you but I don't think we sell any. So I begin looking around the store. I overhear him saying "I hope we don't have to deal with any more customers like that tonight". After looking for a while I just left because what he meant was I could look, but I won't.
Horrible Customer service. Best Buy or another store are much better. I also filed complaints on their website and was never responded to.

game not reserved
i reserved a copy of operation flashpoint dragon rising it came out on october 6th when i arrived at store they said the game wasn't in even thought they called me and told me it was 10 mins before my arrival and tell me they will have it tomarrow so i go home a day goes by after school i go to see if it is in and it still wasn't in so around 7:30 i call the store they have the game but it is sold out and they don't have my reserved copy even thought i had payed for it 4 months in advance and then tell me to come to the store tomarrow to solve the problem in the store

poor service
i was going to gamestop to sell in my xbox 360 an i forgt i needed to be over the age of 18 so i had my friend come from walmart who was 18. he said they close at 9:00 an it was 8:57 an i grabed the door handle an he grabed the other side an pulled it shut when my 18 yr old friend was right next to me an he closed the door in my face.

Rip Off
I have a problem with paying $30.00 for a USED game, and when I took my three used games to trade in for another game, they were only going to give me $12.00 towards credit. I spent $30.00 alone for one of those games and to me that is just unfair and a major rip-off. Maybe they should think about selling their used games at a fair price..like $12.00 for three games!!! Seems only fair to me!! I have purchased to game consoles there Brand new..the playstation 2 and the Wii..plus all the games I presently own and accessories. I have traded my old systems I have had 2 times and also again got ripped off. I think it is a joke..and after today and the experience I have had with this store..I will NEVER step foot at a Game Stop store again. I hope they will close their doors soon after everyone gets tired of this crap. They only would have brought it on themselves. POOR POOR Business!

Fraud and scam
Please explain your "reserve" policy. You state by putting money down on a game A.K.A reserving it! That when the game comes out you will be GUARANTEED A GAME THAT DAY. Then those who didn't will have to wait until all those who had reserved it got theirs. Thats how I thought it worked. Today after I had my game on reserve for a couple weeks I stopped in to pick it up, and you told me, that corporate told you to sell, sell, sell and forget about the people on reserve cause and I quote"we`ll get more in later". REALLY? F@#!NG REALLY? Thats how we`re treating our customers these days? BULL S#@!.
Lets hope the BBB can b#@h slap ya.
