Game2gamer.com is a pathetic excuse for a video game website
Game2gamer.com is a pathetic excuse for a video game website. It offers juvenile, disorganized reviews, mottled with poor spelling and improper grammar and topped off with a general lack of cohesion. Here is an excerpt from a preview on the website:
"We All know this game shall not, and will not let us down! The Prequel in the Halo Series. Reach follows Noble Team and begins the Halo Series. Have we now seen the last in the Halo gaming series or is there more to come? Halo: Reach drops with 3 different choices on picking up the game, There is the standred edition, the collectors edition and the Legendary editon with all the goodies! For the real halo collectors out there, there is also the Halo Xbox System, with a very nice Halo touch to it, and the game itself!"
This is enough to make an eighth grade English teacher cringe. Deplorable.
The marketing ploy the site's owner uses to increase traffic is a random PS3/Xbox 360 code giveaway, wherein users are encouraged to refresh the website every few seconds to get the next code. This would be exciting, but it has been the opinion of several site members that all of the codes were used by the site's webmaster prior to being posted. If this is true, it is an underhanded strategy of getting page hits -- and who would really know, right?
It has also been reported that the webmaster of this site has a history of accepting trade offers from people and receiving their items, but not trading them anything in return. Be warned when you trade with him, because you might just get an e-mail in return which can be paraphrased as, "Sorry, we do not have anything to send back to you at the moment. Please try again later." One could construe this as fraud, if it's true.
Personally speaking, I have had nothing but bad experiences with the website's owner. I attempted to convey to him the frustrations of the community -- which, by the way, only stops by for the aforementioned code giveaway, as the reviews and forums are desolate -- and he blocked me from being able to contact him.
In the digital age, where everything is accessible with the click of a mouse, you need not waste your time with an immature, uninspired website like game2gamer.com. It's nothing but dirt on the information superhighway.
