return policy
we bought the garry vacuum, great folks when we were buying, the free steamer lasted 1 month and after complaining they dropped the shipping fee to $10 to replace. After 4 months our vacuum motor froze up, they are telling us we must pay $50 to ship a new one and $50 for return shipping. Outrageous ! what a scam, we are just buying a new vacuum, we will not give them any more of our money.

Beware
This company is a scam. If you read on line, which I did, unfortunatley after the fact, they appear to be making more on replacement units than the original purchases.
My vac quit in less than 90 days but due to the holidays I waited a bit to call and it was exactly 1 week out of warranty. There was no grace period, no effort to make things right at all. I used this unit 3 times...
They disallowed the free replacement. It will now cost me another $50 to replace the unit and I also have to mail back the defective unit...
Never buy Garry!!

cheap item
I bought a garry vaccum in june 09 and the motor stopped working in dec.09 . I had to give the company 50.00 for them to send me a replacement only to find out this was shipping for one way, I still have to pay more money to ship this broken vaccum back . They told me to insure it and even though insured they would just throw it in the dumpster once it got back. I have gotten a replacement for the broken one and now the replacement one has broken on the seond night of use. I feel that they are using inferior parts and are producing them in a manner that is inconsistent with good quality. I will never purchase another Garry nor will I recommend them unless people want to throw away money like the dirt that the vacuums can't even pick up. As of this date I have spent $350.00 and have no vacuum and plan to get on the phone everyday until I get this problem resolved.

customer service/ replacement
I purchased this vacuum online in June '09 and December 15th '09 the motor broke (a piece of the fan blade on the motor broke off and the motor casing fell apart). I emailed customer service to find out how to go about replacing it on the 16th then called customer service on the 18th. When I was then told the cost of shipping a new vacuum to me- $50, and that I would also have to pay to ship the broken vacuum back, I asked the representative why I had to pay more to replace my vacuum than I did when I puchased it new. He told me that everyone pays the same and that there was nothing he could do to change it. I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor since they should be able to help out with the shipping cost since it hadn't even been 6 months and a $200 vacuum shouldn't break that soon. I was told that the supervisors line was busy but he could set up a call back for me. I agreed to the call back and then waited. I did not recieve a call back so I called on the 22nd. I asked to speak to a supervisor and got the same answer- the line was busy- I opted to put in another call back since it was early in the day and a Tuesday, I thought that I would get a call by the next morning. I did not, I waited till 1pm on the 23rd to call back. When I got through I asked for a supervisor but once again the line was busy, I told the rep to keep trying because I wanted to get the situation resolved. After being on hold for about 3 minutes the line went dead, so I called back, 3 more times and each time I received the same out come- the line was busy and then the line went dead. I did finally talk with a technician, who was very nice and cordial with me, I explained the situation and he told me that he would guarantee me a call back the next day (it was 2 minutes till close of business when I spooke to him) I did not receive a call back so I called on the 28th, I finally got through to a supervisor but of course he wasn't able to take off $10 or issue me a return shipping label. He was so rude with me the entire time- everytime I tried to speak he would interupt me. I finally told him to stop because I deserved to be treated with more respect, and that he would not stand for someone constantly interupting him if he were in my shoes. He did stop and I finally was able to ask for a manager. He could not just transfer my call to management he had to send them an email, but he Guaranteed that I would get a call back in 48 hours. I told him that I didn't believe him because I had been told that lie already. He said that he would put in the request but that he couldn't give me any contact info for management. I told him that I was already filing out the forms for the BBB and that if I did not hear from a manager by 2:45 on the 30th I would be sending the form in. At 2:46pm on the 30th I sent the online form off to the BBB. This morning, 12/04, at 8:53am I received a call from a manager but while I was explaining the situation the phone once again went dead. It is now 11am and I have not heard back from Garry Vacuum. I am now- because of all the hassles with this vacuum- am asking for a full refund. I had to go buy a new vacuum because I have 3 kids 2 cats and a dog and could not be with out a vacuum for this long- the new $50 vacuum that I bought picked up so much dirt in one pass on our livingroom floor (less than 200sqft) after only 2 days of not vacuuming that I'm not sure that the Garry was really doing it's professed job.

Vacuum quit working in less than 5 months
My bad that I fell for the hype on a late night infomercial. I ordered this product on-line rather than calling the number provided. Beware of ordering on-line. Usually you get an opportunity to complete an order after you have entered your info, but not on this website. The second you enter credit card info, the deed is done. Its gone, whew. just like that. No opportunity to look over what you ordered, no 'complete order' button to click on, and no order total. You receive no follow-up email and you are clueless about the total amount till you get your credit card bill. They offer lifetime replacement to original puchaser but fail to tell you just how much it will cost you in shipping and processing charges. "No questions asked" policy is also a scam, because the first thing they ask you (excluding your name and tel. no.) is "what is wrong with the vacuum cleaner?" On my first contact, they asked for the lot number printed on the sticker located on the bottom of the vacuum, and while I was looking for that, I was 'accidentally' diconnected. They offer free vacuum bags for life; you only pay $9.99 shipping and processing fees. I'm pretty sure I could get 3 Hoover bags for that amount or less. Again, my bad for falling for this scam. It was late at night and my brain wasn't operating at full capacity. I was told a new vacuum would be shipped for $50.00 and the cost to return the defective vacuum was my responsibility. If they did not receive the vacuum within 30 days< I would be charged $150.00. This vacuum is very loud and does not perform as demonstrated and promised on the infomercial, plus it broke down completely in less than 5 months. Do not fall for this scam. Please go to the store and buy your vacuum, because, if it breaks while in warranty, you can return it for a refund and not be charged ridiculous shipping and processing charges. These charges alone cover the entire cost of producing this 'hunk o junk'. This company has called me twice in the last two months trying to sell me more products. Each contact person has been Asian, and we all know the pay scales of these countries' workers. Garry Vacuum does not seem to ba a reputable company to me. Thank you for this forum.
