Starting on 9/28/2009, Troy Tipton from Gary Tipton Inc. D/B/A Tipton A/C sold me and installed an oversized A/C system and new duct work that he never completed and never fixed issues. He charged $6275.00.
* Old equipment and duct work in attic was never removed
* Numerous leaks in duct work (to the point of the attic being just as cool as the house when the air is on)
* Torn ducts in attic
* Instead of replacing the old vents in the ceiling with new ones large enough to cover the holes, they were replaced with smaller ones in different locations. The inoperable old vents need to be removed from the attic.
* Sharp turns and crimps is blocking the air flow through the duct work
* Returns are on the floor instead of ceiling
* Opening into the attic where the air handler connects needs to be made larger to fit the new air handler
* A 5 ton air handler was installed instead of a 4 ton
* Connections to the new air compressor need to be the proper size
* Compressor has excessive water build up under it
* Air handler has excessive water build up to the point of saturating the insulation inside of it
* Master bedroom still remains warmer then the rest of the house
* Must have temperature set extremely low to keep the house cool. Floors are wet with humidity.
* Your work was done without obtaining a permit.
After numerous phone calls and letters, Mr. Tipton agreed to fix the issues on 12/8/2009. However, he never showed up and has not returned any attempts to contact him since by phone, e-mail or regular mail. I had 3 other companies come in only to find that the units and his work were unsalvageable. On 1/18/2010, I had to have everything he did ripped out and a whole new system and ductwork installed costing an additional $7, 790.00.
