I went to look at a new car at Gary Yeoman's 3 weeks ago but was too underwater on my old one to buy new and my trade-in was too low. I was told that I could put down $20, 000 and end up with a car payment only $200 less than I have now. That would be crazy. I thanked that salesman(a really nice guy) then left.
Yesterday, I get a call from some manager there, who says to me "We undervalued your trade-in. Come on in and let my boss see your car. We can definitely make a deal."
I was so excited about getting out of my large car loan into something more affordable. When I got down there, I'm handed off to another salesman, (not the great guy who had spent hours with me previously) who tells me "Your trade in isn't worth what you owe. If you can put down $20, 000..." The same thing I had turned down 3 weeks previously!!! I asked to talk to the manager to find out what he meant in his phone call about my trade-in being worth more but he never came to see me. I told the salesman I was not happy with their underhanded trick of luring people back with false promises and told him I would never do business with Gary Yeoman's again. I will spread the word to my co-workers and friends to watch out for this shoddy practice. It may not stop them from buying but it'll make those dishonest salespeople a little less able to trick them and to set them up for disappointment like they did to me.
It's unfortunate that I had this bad experience. Over the years I have bought 4 vehicles from them. Now I won't even buy a Ford at all because they'd be the closest service center and I don't want to do any business with them.
