Gator Engines Reviews

undelivered transmission
On December 1, 2010, a used automatic transmission for a 2003 Dodge 1500 PU truck was ordered from this company. The transmission was not delivered in the time frame as promised. Several phone calls were made with concerns of eventual delivery. After excuses and promises of a delivery date, they finally said that it was not possible to ship the product and that our money would be refunded. Someone advised us to file a dispute through our credit card company and that was done. Many calls to the company with voice mail messages left were unreturned. A spokesperson at Gator told us that the person in charge of refunds was out of the office until after the new year. This person said that she was not authorized to do this transaction and we would have to wait. OK... here it is almost to the end of January 2011 and we are yet to have our money refunded. This company was too quick to collect, but not so quick to act as a reputable company by keeping their word. We had to pay nearly $1200 and now this company is not refunding our hard earned money. This company is not to be trusted.

Took money and didn't receieve engine
My husband and I ordered a reman engine for a 97 Ford F-150 on Oct. 29, 2010. We didn't hear from them for 2 weeks so I tried on several occasions to contact them. Each time I was told the order was in process and awaiting parts. On December 15th 2010 I received a call that engine order was being cancelled due to time frame and lack of parts needed. I was told to dispute the charges through my credit card company because they would help the refund to be processed sooner. Or I could wait the 7-10 days after January 3rd when there accounting department came back from Christmas shut down. I have tried several times the past 2 days to reach them by phone and now all I get is a voice mail and no return calls. We paid out $2097.00 for this engine and want to get our money back as soon as possible. I hope we are not out this money. Also, now there website is not found when we try to pull it up on the internet.

No Delivery/Failing to Refund
On 10-22-2010 I ordered a reman engine for one of my vehicles. The order was started on 10-25-2010 after over $2000 was forwarded to them. Was gauranteed delivery within 21 days. On day 25, no contact, no delivery, so I called them, 12 times over a 3 day period, leaving messages with no return. I finally called and got a live person who told me my engine was not ready yet due to backordered parts. When i asked how long until the unit would be able to be on my doorstep, I was told the first or second week of January 2011. This was unacceptable, so I requested a refund. I was told the I had to talk to a Supervisor regarding a refund and that one would call me back immediately. Apparently immediately is about two days for this company. When I talked to the Supervisor I was gauranteed the full amount paid as the refund (they usually take 5% off the top). I was told that it would be to me in 7-10 business days guaranteed. That was on November 23rd, 2010. I began calling them regarding the refund that had not posted within the 7-10 business days leaving messages like before over a three day period. I finally got a call from the same supervisor stating that the process was not started because I only calncelled the order and did not authorize the refund back to me????????? I thought I authorized it when i cancelled the order ehen I stated that "I wanted my money back and the order cancelled." So I gave authorization today (December 15th) to get my money back, then was told that I had to have the bank "Dispute the Charges" in order for the refund to be processed. WHAT???????? So I called my bank and they are going to dispute the charges, and when they find that this is a valid coplaint, they will be reporting this business to the State AG, BBB, and other entities. (My bank is a bulldog when it comes to what appears to be fraudulent activities). This is not over, the saga continues!!!

Regarding: Status of 383 Stroker Engine ordered by Michael Perrone on October 19th, 2010.

In follow-up to our telephone conversation prior to Thanksgiving, I would appreciate if you would keep me apprized as to the status of the crank shaft and any other items that are pending for the engine that I have ordered.

I was originally told upon ordering this engine that it would take approximately 15-18 business days to build and approximately 5 days shipping. At present we are 26-28 business days out and I have not been notified either by phone or via e-mail that there would be any delay in delivery of this engine.

I have called numerous times trying to get clarification on the status of my engine order, which I have been given little explanation as to the delay, until I spoke with you. I was told each time by Ed that the delivery would be farther out, but with no explanation as to why. Thus my frustration with this company's customer support.

I appreciate that you will be now handling the status and delivery of the 383 stroker engine, and keeping me apprized as to the completion of the building, and shipping out of the engine. This is a very expensive and big investment, and the customer support for such a purchase should be commenserate with the expensive nature of this purchase.

With everything that has already transpired, some compensation I believe would be warranted.

Engine sale
I Posted an earlier complaint which got their attention (this website is helpful), they are attempting to make good on the damaged engine and are promising me a replacement. Will post a resolution as soon as it happens

Scam and cheating
Rhino engines, a 'company' well known for ripping off consumers, has now changed their name and is operating as Gator Engines.

formerly Rhino Engines
Rhino Engines is now operating as Gator Engines. How they can rip off everybody, change their name, and resume ripping people off is beyond me. But if you've had a problem with Rhino, you should contact Gator Engines.
