buses upto 20 minutes late, buses up to 10 minutes early thru scheduled points, buses detouring around parts of their route to avoid picking up students or night passengers, buses passing passengers buy at bus stops and waving over their shoulders to catch a next bus, rude drivers who verbally abuse passengers, insects (roaches, spiders, silverfish, etc) on some buses, service failures due to lack of foresight (in a blizzard, you don't use trolley buses when every things going to be coated in ice),
I have been riding the GDRTA for 23 years and I have watched the service go down hill like an olympic skier while the fairs have risen far beyond reasonable inflation (mostly to support insane projects like the wright stop plaza and the union backed 1.00 a year every year raise the drivers get)
among the latest service fails have been the removal of all bus stops within a two to four block radius of the center of downtown dayton, forcing everyone to use the Wright stop plaza which has knob/spiked tile 10 foot wide walkway (the better to make you go inside the sales area so you will buy their overpriced snacks), buses in all directions come thru the single, two lane turn around going on either side of the platform, most times the platform is packed like a sardine can and you only have a few minutes to make it to your bus or your left.
call their customer service hotline and you get 4 or 5 minutes of advertising and automated system runaround, once you reach a live operator with your complaint you are given lame excuses and lies to placate you and get you off the line, if you try to contact a supervisor you are put on hold for a long time during which they come back every three to five minutes to see if your still there then it's back on hold, after about 20 minutes if you hold out that long you will hear a click and dial tone.

if you are trying to catch a bus with a school on it's route, get their at least 15 minutes early because the drivers run their routes early to avoid picking up students, and if the schedule says the bus goes to the garage after downtown, do bother going, it won't pick you up.
see, the consensus among most drivers seems to be they are paid to drive around all day and picking up the passengers is at best a great personal favor to you from them and at worst a terrible burden.
