GE Dryer - 3 motors in 2 years - JUNK
Bought a top of the line GE profile dryer - 10 months of use and it blew up - after 2 months of weekly phone calls emails I got warranty repair - new motor and electronics - lasted 2 days - then they replaced the unit - I insisted I did not want the same model - but there was no other option from them - so I took it - this unit has now lasted 13 months - and it blew up - I was in basement and my husband & daughter upstairs and they thought someone shot a gun - after I started screaming they found me downstairs with a smoking dryer - JUNK - do NOT buy GE

Refrigerator
I swear to god I want the people in the consumer relations and service department to just fall over and die. I have had nothing but horrible experiences with my refrigerator that is a couple months old. Today was the 3rd scheduled service call where they just decided not to show up without any reason. This is unacceptable service. The 2nd time I called to complain about it they said they will extend my warranty a year, well now it's happened a 3rd time and what another year extended but no service available? GE better try and figure out a better way to deal with customers and not just flake out when I've lost 3 good days at work, which I should just charge them for!

Awful quality products
1. We found that our fancy side freezer refrigerator was recalled. This happened after 6 years old refrigerator started having problems: frost and melting ice from the freezer and eventually stopped freezing at all.
2. GE told us that they can give us credit towards the new one just for us to find out that the new one with a credit will be more expensive than to buy similar non GE one from Home depot.
3. We thought we were lucky that we had maintenance contract - $170 value. The technician told us that this refrigerator was recalled and must be changed for the new one anyway. We got a new similar refrigerator and get a frost in the freezer in about two months later.
4. To get a new refrigerator with a problem we had to take at least 3 days off from work and spend numerous hours on the phone with customer service.
They canceled our warranty we bought for the old one and we received only one year total on the new one. All our demands to extend the warranty to the new refrigerator for the time left on the old contract we payed for were denied.
5. Now we had to schedule another call from GE to fix the new refrigerator. Per Our previous experience with the old refrigerator we knew they never call, and if they do they never come at the time they can be expected.
6. Call support gives you 4 hours window during the week or 8 hours on the weekend and promise to give you a call before the technician comes.
We scheduled service call at least 2 times, but never had a chance to receive a service. Two times the technician did not call us 1 hour in advance as we were promised by the customer service. One time they schedule a call without letting us know.
All and all if you have a life beside your refrigerator think twice before you BUY it from GE, or if you do be prepared to a long battle.

Beware
In December 2007, I remodeled my kitchen using all GE Monogram appliances. Within weeks, it was clear that the refrigerator/freezer (Model ZFSB25DTG) was not keeping temperature, would not make ice, was incredibly loud, and the freezer compartment had expanded to the point that the shelves no longer fit.
I made several calls to their service department. One technician would show up, be very rude, and order parts for the next guy; who would then show up late (sometimes not at all--until I made myriad appointments) and then say the first guy ordered them wrong.
This has gone on now for 4-1/2 months, 23 phone calls, 7 service calls, and I haven't had one thing fixed.

Bad product
GE Profile Refrigerator Model #PSS26PSWASS
I have had the problem with ice buildup in the back of the vegetable drawer. My fridge was purchased at Lowes. After eight months of complaining, and several visits by GE a technician, they have now done a horrible and ugly job fixing the problem by taping with duct tape, a heater inside the refrigerator!!! When I questioned the technician, he said "I know it is a crappy job, but this is the best I can do". Neither Lowes nor GE have made any attempts to resolve this issue to our satisfaction. I would not recommend buying the GE Profile refrigerator.

They are really bad
I came across some blogs on the GE Cafe line discussing issues. You won't believe this...we spent $7K on the Cafe line of appliances. We had to replace the microwave three times...the dishwasher twice...and the refrigerator doors once. UNBELIEVABLE! We requested GE to take all of the appliances back and they refused. They gave us a measly 4 year extended warranty that we demanded for the dysfunctional appliances. Here were the problems:
Microwave: 1st: dented left lower side; dent upper left side; venting would open and close twice and then stay closed with the microwave on. 2nd: Dents again in the lower left; Key pad visual became distorted so you couldn't read anything 3rd: dents in the lower left again and the key pad went completely out!
Dishwasher: 1st: Door was crooked on tub (bent); water leaked on the top control panel from condensation; leak in rubber seal on left side of door. 2nd: Installer filled dishwasher with two large glasses of water to prime pump; he turned dishwasher on; all of the water came pouring out on the floor; inspection revealed the dishwasher came with a nut missing on the clamp that holds the motor female end that attaches to the male end that goes into the dishwasher tub.
Refrigerator: 1st: right door dented; left door ice maker/water dispenser frame dented; water leaked out from capture tray behind the frame and on to the front of the door onto the floor. 2nd: icemaker/water dispenser frame not latched on lower left side (sticks out): began leaking water again.
Awaiting GE appt to repair.
No problems (yet with dual fuel range). Dishwasher stays wet after cycle; rep sent bottle of staydry to fix it!
DON'T BUY GE CAFE; DON'T BUY GE PERIOD AS THEY WORK WITH IRAN!

We will never purchase GE again
We have a GE Profile range, the stovetop cracked and is continuing to crack when the burners are used. We did not do anything to make this initial crack happen other than normal use of the stove. We tried to get the part replaced and GE said it has been discontinued and there is nothing they can do. We feel GE should do something to remedy the problem since we cannot safely use the range now. We will never purchase GE again if they do not help with this problem, can they replace with a new range or at least partial cost of a new range.

Dishwasher leaves soap on everything
Bought a GE dishwasher last May and our friends bought a slightly different model. Now both machines, just approaching the 1 year mark, are leaving the dishes covered in a soap film.
My husband is very handy and has taken the machine apart and cleaned everything, but nothing seems to help.
At first we thought the problem was our well water, but our friends are on city water. We then thought the problem was the soap we are using, but again our friends use different dish soap, but have the same problem.
The bottom line: do not buy a GE dishwasher unless you are ready to throw it away a year later!!

Bad product
I have a 6 mth old GE refrigerator and have had a repair man out 6 times to make the ice maker dispense ice. Well yesterday the repair man was doing all the GE Tech's told him to do, and they blew out the fridge. Nothing works now. So, we have had to wait 4 + months and now 24-72 hours before the review board can tell the GE Idiots what they can do for us. Until then, we the consumer have to do with out on a Holiday Weekend. Go figure. GE Customer Services Supervisors, you suck at pleasing your customers!!

Nightmare
If GE Monogram put more effort in designing a quality product than marketing it as a quality product perhaps it would work correctly. I have had my GE Monogram Trivection Oven for 2 months and have used it all of twelve times before it failed completely. I am now on my third service call and the oven still does not work. The repairman cannot even access the service menu. I have also been treated rudely by GE customer service agents. GE finally agreed to replace the oven, but I am on day 48 without an oven. Worst customer service ever.
