Do not buy GE Adora
Do not buy GE Adora Washers or Dryers; we are now trying to get service for our second washer and dryer in less than two years. The first set bought at our local Home Depot was leaking and having running issues and one (we think dryer) putting holes in new clothes. Home Depot after three repairs helped us with GE to get replacements but the new washer just ate my 8month olds overalls and cut the rubber boot on front door. We are still getting holes in clothes. The second set was the top models one above our previous which were all around 1K each machine. Not sure yet if they will cover the rip in washer boot. I wish I knew a good brand but many have issue in less than a year, crazy to spend 2K every year

Scratched appliance!
I ordered a GE CAFE dual fuel range and it came with a broken leveling leg and bottom oven drawer would not shut all the way on one side. Some one from GE came to fix it and said it could not be fixed because the frame was bent. Someone must have dropped it. I just had another stove delivered on Feb. 12, 2008 and it came with scratches on the control panel. I called GE when the delivery people were here and they told me I can't refuse delivery because it is a replaceable part. That seems crazy to me. So if there was a dent in the door I have to accept delivery and have someone come fix it. Confused here. Needless to say I already had to miss 3 days of work and now have to miss another to have the repair guy come back out. Would not even take $ off because it is a replaceable part. Good old GE!!

Profile harmony dryer stopped working!
I had a GE Proflie Harmony Gas Dryer which stopped drying after three years. When I called Sears which is where I bought it from to come out and look at the dryer they told me it would cost 700.00 to repair. The Dryer itself cost about 1,000.00. The parts for this dryer are very expensive. I almost had a heart attack. Well at that cost it made more sense to just purchase another dryer since they were on sale for about the same cost. I decided to email GE since I also have the washing machine that matches the dryer, and 7 other GE appliances that I purchased all on the same day, but they refused to answer my email.
When I finally got a chance to call them on the phone they bounced me around between four different people. One was more rude than the other. I told them I would like an explanation as to how these parts could die out in three years, and if they would give me some assistance with having to purchase the new dryer.
Well they could not answer any of my questions and offered to do nothing to help me with my situation. I am very disgusted with GE, and disgusted that a dryer which should last at least 15 years, only lasted 3.

Poor service!
In August 2007 I had my GE Profile dishwasher serviced for the recall concerning the leaky rinse-aid dispenser and its associated fire hazard. GE's solution was to replace the wiring harness (on which the rinse-aid had leaked) and remove the sound-dampening insulation (which was soiled with rinse-aid). The thick layer of insulation that previously had insulated the entire door was replaced with a piece of tissue approximately 1 foot x 8 inches which was pasted to the inside of the door panel. GE calls this "insulation," but it in no way provides any sound dampening whatsoever. My formerly quiet dishwasher is now very loud as there is absolutely nothing there to deaden the sound.
When I called GE, I spoke to a number of individuals and their supervisors who told me this is the fix, and it is final - they will not replace the insulation that they removed from the door. Of course I understand why GE doesn't want to put any insulation in there, because their "fix" does not fix the true problem - the rinse-aid dispenser still leaks to the inside of the door, and if you put the insulation back in, it would probably add to the fire hazard.
The final offer of consolation from GE was a 50% discount on the purchase of a comparable new dishwasher, with shipping charges waived. Ridiculous! They ruin my dishwasher, and now they want me to pay for a new one? When I bought a GE dishwasher, I paid for the "quiet" performance. My dishwasher is no longer the quality appliance I had before. I could have achieved the same noisy effect with a cheap dishwasher from the discount store.
I do not want a new dishwasher. All I want is for GE to repair the rinse-aid dispenser so it does not leak, and I would like GE to replace the sound-dampening insulation they removed from the door in order to return the dishwasher to its previously "quiet" state.

I said this is not safe and there should be a recall on this product he said he couldn't help me any further and they asked me the model # 5 times, what kind of customer service was that!!??
