Late fees
I am not really suprised when I googled for "GE Care Credit Complaints" to find out millions are suffering from this scam...GE Care Credit is not there to help you, they want to get as much as they get from you...To have GE care credit card is a nightmare. DO NOT USE IT!!! SCAM!!! I think this is how GE makes money, not with what they sell or manufacture, GE makes money with scam, charging huge amounts of interest, late fees to people like us who believe them and who make their monthly payments on time...Please do not even mention or recommend anybody the care credit card...

They are in the business of crime, not lending
This company will never be able to explain how a payment is received on time, or early in my situation, and they charge a late fee since the statement for the current month has not generated yet. They applied the payment to the balance yet because the payment was received early and not when the due date was set a late charge was placed on the account.

They ask you to pay “on or before the due date”, but not too early. Guess they just want to screw people out of money and ruin their credit. They are in the business of crime, not lending.

Paid Bill off-Still showing Balance
Wrote ltr on 10/25/2010 protesting balance and late fees.Proceeded to tell me I owed $200 from 2008..well at $40 @ 12 months =$480?? Received ltr that if I pd $440.92 by the 3rd of Dec.acct would be clear/zero and this would be within the promotional period, I look my acct on line and my balance is now $413.45 as of 12/16/2010? I have pd this acct off and I am not paying them another dime. These people should be put out of business. They have no acctg system.they just do whatever the hell they want to do..I do not have the time, money or energy to deal withthis foolishness.

My interest rate was hiked from 13% to 30% after the new credit card rules went into affect in February 2010. I spoke with supervisors who told me they were requested a "reinstatement" of the agreed upon interest rate. They strung me along for a few more months, each supervisor promising the "request" had been "approved" and that there would be a refund of finance charges and the correct interest rate of 13%. I was told, "wait for your next statement, pay your bill".

I'm angry because I have acted in good faith, and even continued paying each month while trying to resolve the problem. And the worst part, I wrote to customer service, sent it USPS Priority Mail and they didn't even respond to that!

Looking for help above and beyond customer service. There's got to be somebody who can fix this, but I just can't find that person.

Dispute
Finance Charge will incur if you make your payment too early.
I opened an account with CareCredit to pay for braces. It was to be an 18 month no interest account which allowed for one late payment before the finance charge would be added to the account.
I did have a payment due of about 59.00 on 9-20-09. I realized on the 21st that I was late, so I made a payment of 180.00 covering the September and October payments.
My October statement arrived with the finance charge added to the account. When I called to question the charge I was told that because I missed both Sept and Oct's payments I was in default of my contract. I explained how I made the payment on 9-21 for the late Sept payment and the current Oct payment. It was explained to me that the Oct payment was not due until after 9-28. I questioned if I was now being penalized because I made the Oct payment too early??? The answer was YES, you made the payment after the September payment was due, but before the October payment was due on the 28th.
I would not advise anyone to do business with this company. By the way, the interest rate was 29.99%

GE Care Credit
My father was sold GE Care Credit at a dentist office. He did not understand it was a credit card. Three days later when he told me, we cancelled it, via phone.
Care Credit PRE CHARGED $1200 worth of treatment!
Three days after his office visit, we paid for the treatment he received, and returned to his regular dentist.
GE continues to harass my parents. I have written letters and done everything an honest consumer can do. I finally signed them up for Caller ID so they don't have to talk to them.
I have never had so much trouble trying to settle anything.

NO REFUND UNTIL NOW
I sent my complaint letter to GE care and a copy to the dentist for services paid by GE but not rendered by the dental office. The amount is $1700.00 Until now they have not refunded this money to me and the interest keeps on going. GE is suppose to refund that money. They want me to pay them on time but for 3 months that I had been pursuing them, that money has not been returned by GE.
I told the dental office from the very beginning that I dont need any lower dentures because of my eye surgery.
They have not made it and I am not interested in getting one. The eye surgery cost me almost $10, 000. The person that I had been dealing with has been terminated and they keep on passing this issue around. These people are thieves and GE is an instrument to get money from us. So if you happen to apply for GE CARE CREDIT, I suggest that you do not go for this kind of solution. Stay away from GE Care credit.

Excessive finance charges
There needs to be some way to control the excessive finance changes made by companies that arrange for financing is situations where other alternatives are not available and in emergencies. They tell me that they are offering a DEAL (14% interest) instead of their regular 24% to 29% APR! This is SOOO outrageous it should be illegal.

FEES AND CREDIT LIMITS
I have had a GE CARE CREDIT account for over a year. I have an electronic payment monthly and have never been late on any payment. Also for their benefit I took the costly insurance that I did not realize was so costly and the fees unreasonable. I have paid 10 payments of $65 and have now lowered my account by $205 dollars!!! That is awful and to top it off they sent me a letter stating they will be increasing my interest rates due to credit info. I have not had any late fees or charges or credit changes since this card was issued and I think they are treating me quite unfairly for a company that has gotten their money on time every month for 10 months and more than the required payment.

Late payment regardless of paid account
We got the Care Credit card by GE to pay for some hefty unexpected vet fees for our very young dog. We put two separate charges on the card that were within two days of opening the account and in order to pay the card off quickly, I made an online payment for over the minimum amount due only four days after the account was opened. Online account says that no other payment was required until the next month, but then I get an email and calls harassing us about our late payment! Turns out you're not ALLOWED to make payments until the statement goes out and you literally have it in your hands. Otherwise, you are paying on principal only, even if your account has no principal (due to the 0% promo deals). This leaves about a two week period that you can make your payment for it to be a valid payment, which excludes anything other than online payments because mailing in your payment could possibly make it late. After some hassle we got them to refund the $39.99 late fee charge. Also, you can't add any other members (even spouses) to be authorized users (not even to have a card, just to call in) unless you call and ask them to send you a form within 4-6 weeks and then once you send it back it will take another 4-6 weeks to process. I can't say this card is horrible because it helped out in a time of need but they have very unreasonable standards and protocol.
