Gross negligence and incompetence by customer service
GE Money Bank has hired customer service representatives that do not know the answers to your case. They also have managers that are just as incompetent. Did you know that when I spoke to GE Money Bank customer service representatives on the 16th day of March, 2011 that I was told that GE Money was not a member of the FDIC. I was also told that GE Money did not have a Complaints Division with which to file a complaint. I was told any complaint had to go through the customer service supervisor.

I was given three different stories regarding my interest rate. Two of those stories came in the same phone conversation with a customer service manager named Dennis.

If a customer service representative of GE Money Bank does not even know what the FDIC is or when both the representative and manager deny that GE Money is a member of the FDIC, and when a customer service rep and manager cannot even adquately determine the reason for the interest rate on an account, you should be concerned as the consumer! If GE Money Bank cannot even answer these simple questions, what else are GE Money employees not telling you?

HARRASMENT & INCOMPETENCE
GE. money bank isthe worse financial institute I have ever dealt with. They never sent me any paper work for my contract and what the due date was. I have 2 acounts in my name.One I signed for my daughter for eye surgery and the other account for 2 chairs I bought. They harrass you from 8am to 9pm by phone.I tried to get when payment was due, no response. I called to get a live person to straighten the mess out and all I get is somemone in India barely speaks english. They won't let you talk to a supervisor. When I sent a payment in they would add it to my daughter' s account, making me late and charging a $20. late fee.I send in payments and always the balance is higher than originally.Finally after daling with the furniture store again they decided to pay the account off for me and drop the late fees. My daughter got on the internet to see her balanc and to pay it off and they gave her account the credit for my payments. I will NEVER use them again. they are nothing more than legalized loan sharks. Buyer beware and stay away from this company.

Worst Bank Ever!
In November of 2010 I opened an account with Carecredit through GE Money bank. I've had nothing but problems since. I made one purchase at my eye doctor with the card for 130 dollars. I paid the amount in full by the due date. GE Money claims they never received my payment. They then added a late fee onto the next statement. I paid this also even though I shouldn't have had too. GEMB is still claiming I never paid them and has not sent me a statement for the past two months, but reported I was 30 and 60 days late to all of the credit bureaus. I contacted the Office of Thrift Supervision a few days ago, and am waiting for them to process my complaints against this horrible company. I will definitely be closing my account after OTS investigates my complaints. Never do business with this company!!!

Care Credit screwed me
I will post this everywhere I can continually until this is changed. already posted several places today. I will be filing with BBB as well.

I used this Care Credit account for a couple years. They were always happy to increase my limit when i needed it. I hit hard times and had to relocate. I missed three months of payments getting back on my feet and they increased my interest to 29.99%. I was told that if I made six months of payments on time that they would lower my payment. They never did and after speaking to them they are not interested in lowering my account interest, they canceled my account and said basically your screwed by us. This place is out to jack people around to rape them of their money once in the door. DO NOT USE THIS BANK NOR WOULD I USE CARE CREDIT WHO FINANCES THRU GE MONEY BANK!!!

Send my bill late and charge extra fees
I am so sick of getting my bills late and only having 12 to 15 days to pay a bill. The billing cycle is supposed to be 31 days and I get a bill on the 9th or 11th and see the bill due on the 23rd or 25th. Is that 31 days? I don't think so! My bill has gone up over $200.00 in 6 months because of the $35.00 late fees. This company is B.S. and I am ready to quit paying my bill put a comment on my credit report and see if they have the balls to come after me. I doubt it they are a scam and should be forced out of business.

I unfortunately had the experience of having two credit cards under GE Money Bank and lost a lot of money because of them. First of all, they practice predatory credit. They charge OUTRAGEOUS interest. Also, they change around due dates to confuse you in order to charge you late fees. They also add interest to their late fees. They have incompetent customer service that are abroad and do not understand anything about how things work here. During the financial crunch, I was hit hard due to the auto industry collapse. They were not flexible in any sense and pestered me even though I have a strong credit history. I dealt with numerous credit companies and these are by far the worst and least accommodating. In conclusion...

IF YOU ARE THINKING OF GETTING A CREDIT CARD, DO NOT USE THEM.. THEY ARE SCAMMERS IN ALL SENSES!

I signed up for a GE Money credit card on July 10, 2010 at a Hunter Douglas window covering store. I have been making regular payments on the $5, 520.72 that I borrowed. I had $500 left on 1/13/11 when the protional period expired. I knew that the $500 would get charged 29.99% interest but I planned to pay it off at the end of January. I had no idea that I would get charged 29.99% deferred interest for the past six months on the entire $5, 520.72. I have never heard of credit cards like that. Granted there was language on the credit card bill that referenced "deferred interest", but I had no idea what that meant. I now owe an additional $707.10. They do not have a dispute process. They stick to the fact that it was on my bill that this would happen. How horrific! I now feel like I should warn others about this predatory lending and it's new and unclear language. As consumers the best we can do is warn eachother about what products and services to avoid. Everyone AVOID GE MONEY like the PLAGUE. They are evil.

Charged me $204.00 interest after all I owed was $250.00
GE Money is disgusting.They design their bill so that you dont notice that your promotional deferred interest is about to expire..if they were decent they would alert you in a manner that draws attention on the bill one or two months before... instead the information is difficult to understand, see...they need to post a big red exclamation warning on the bill the month or two before that expiration date.

I wasnt even aware that I had one of these deferred interest accounts from that disgusting store Sleepy's who I had to fight with the CEO of that disgusting company who failed to replace a defective bed that I bought for my elderly parents. I owed all of $250.00 from an original bill of $1400.00 paid faithfully and because I didnt see the January 9th expiration to pay the final $250.00 off, GE MOney grub Bank charged me $204.00 additional dollars Now I owe $404.00 instead of the final $250.00..

GE disgusting bank should redesign their billing statement so that you dont miss this crucial information instead it looks so generic all I see is the remaining balance. How many millions of dollars are they making on people who dont understand or miss this information because of the way they design their bill? They are evil deceitful, mean spirited, unethical hated.If there is a Higher Power I have no idea why it lets these evil people get away with this and all the other evil people who are getting away with the worst sinful behavior

Unbelievable interest charge
Signed up for a promotion with a GE Money Bank Credit Card, 9 months of no interest. Figured out how to make the payments so I wouldn't get charged interest.
The promotion ended the ninth. I owed 217.00. It would have been my last payment. I got my bill on the 15. Because I did not pay the 217.00 by the 9th (even though I didn't RECEIVE the bill until the 15th), they are charging me 354.00 in interest! The INTEREST is almost twice what I owe. How can they legally do this?!
Can't get hold of anyone on the phone. They don't have an email. If I try writing to them...how much more interest are they going to be charging me by the time they respond to my letter? I wished I read more about this scam credit card before I foolishly signed up for one through System Pavers (a company which deserves its own complaint box for its lousy product)
If there is a class action lawsuit going on against this fraud bank, I would like to join it.

I opened a credit card with GE Money through Amazon.com. I tried making an electronic payment from my bank account, but something got messed up. GE Money said the payment was returned for insufficient funds, but not only were the funds there the bank told me they never got the transaction. I immediately called GE Money and they told me to try resubmitting the payment through their website. It went through a day later. No problem, right? GE Money closed my account and reported me to a credit bureau.
