Credit card application
I applied for a Wal Mart Credit Card on line and the above bank sent me an email stating that I was denied due to "Unable to Identity". I called and was told a better explanation would be mailed to me at my home address within 30 days. To date I have received NOTHING. What is the problem??? Plz advise smb!

I submitted an application at Mervyns after buying some clothes for my daughter. The 15% discount sounded like a great idea just to aquire a $500 credit card.
This was on 4-04-08. On 5-05-08 after having not received my card yet, I drove back over to Mervyns and asked the cashier if I could pay my bill.
She could not access my account without an account number. I explained to her I never received a credit card so I can't give her a number. She told me to go to the customer service window.
Here I am at the customer service window and guess what she tells me. I can't give you your account number. She pointed to a bank of phones at the nearby wall.
I walked over to the phones and picked up a handset which of course placed me on hold.
After waiting for 5-6 minutes I hung up and walked out in disgust.
2 weeks flew by. On the 3rd week, I started getting these phone calls every day by GE money bank about my Mervyns card.
I called them a week later and guess what he told me? Of course this was after explaining the whole situation to him.
He could not give me my account number over the phone and I had to get the store customer service to call him.
Back to the store I went. Back to the customer service window I went. I explained my situation again.
She called GE money bank. I received my account number. I paid off my account on the spot.
I found out that I already had an account with Mervyns exactly a year ago in 2007.
This store/bank allowed me to open two accounts with the same name with the same drivers license number. I never received a card for the account opened in 2007 either.
I closed both accounts on the spot and the guy at GE money bank had the nerve to ask me why I closed my accounts.
This bank hasn't a clue how to treat a customer. Especially with a 23% credit card.
I found out that day that Ge money bank had already turned my account into their in-house collections department for non-payment of my account.
Never again will I shop at Mervyns. Never again will I have anything to do with GE money bank.

No statements, just late fees
I do not receive a bill from GE Money Bank consistently. I am staring at the last bill I received from them it is dated 3/15/08 it is now 5/21/08. I do get late fees and GE Money Bank is messing with my credit. They say I get a bill, they confirm my address, but I get no bill just more late fees and a run around.

Business practices
In February 2007, I found myself unemployed for a short-time. Long enough that after a few months I wasn't able to make payments to my debts, almost even losing my house to foreclosure. I finally got a permanent full-time job, making sufficient wages versus the part-time job and temp jobs that I was working. But during those dark times and lack of funds I supplemented my income using Payroll Advance companies, which I got into heavy, up to five loans.

In February 2008, I wrote my creditors explaining the outcome and the need to eliminate my dependency of the Payroll Advance companies. I promised to make a $10 monthly payment, in good faith, till I was out of the Payroll Advance clutches. Aspire Bank discharged my account to zero balance, immediately. The others didn't care less. Then in May 2008, I obtained a loan to pay off my creditors.

Each creditor was connected to settle for a lesser amount in order stretch out the loan money. HSBC was the only company to fax me a copy of the agreement and completely closed my account after receiving the payment. Applied Bank turned me over to a collection agency (PRS) and I was forced to deal them. PRS agreed to a lesser amount but would not fax a copy of it. CitiFinanical submitted a check to Applied Bank for what was listed on my credit report. I was told that by law they are to reissue me the almost $400 difference. I even call PRS again to confirm agreement. The check was sent out to Applied Bank, but they credited the whole amount of the check to my account. Currently have a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's office against them.

Washington Mutual also turned me over to a collection agency and they refused to settle for a lesser amount. They did agreed to remove two fees to lower the balance to the amount of the check issued thru CitiFinanical. Again no fax received for agreement, check based on credit report, phone call to confirmed. WAMU is not honoring the removing of the fees to close out my account. Remaining balance of $55.33 not a great amount, but still an agreement was made.

The worst offender, GE Money Bank, they agreed to lesser amount on two of my accounts. No fax received, and when I told them I was recording the phone calls they declined to talk to me. One check was issued by CitiFinancial to GEMB. A large part of the check was to pay off American Car Care Credit and the balance applied to Care Credit. I sent a personnel check to Care Credit for the remaining balance. Both checks were overnighted, received and signed for by due date. Both checks cleared the banks four days later.

GEMB insisted they have not received any payments. Copies of the cleared checks were faxed to them as proof of payment. They have finally stated that they did receive the CitiFinanical check, but not my. And I not sure at this time if they are honoring the agreed lesser amount. I have filed a complaint against GEMB with the OTS Consumer Response Center in Washington DC, which when I tell GEMB this they don't seem to care.

Thank you for allowing me to express my grief. This is the first media that I have contacted, but plan to contact more and hopes to inform others of Consumer Awareness.

Worst mistake i ever made!
I was suckered into this account by American Laser Center. Worse mistake ever. The girl at ALC told me my minimum payment/month would be $65 - uh YEAH it WAS for about 2-3months then it shot up to $95!! WTF?! On top of that, I discovered that only ~35% of that minimum due payment was going toward my balance! The other 65% was FINANCE CHARGES! The APR is extremely high on this card as well.

I just recently had a problem with CC/GEMB. I made an e-payment to them for $95 & they sent me an email confirmation for the payment. I must admit, I was about 2 days late on the payment. However, about 4, 5 days later, I kept receiving these calls - they show up as 'Unavailable' on my cell (go figure). I answered the phone & its GEMB calling about a payment that hasn't been made. I told them I have made that payment; he said he would make a note of that & the call was ended. In the next week, they called my d#$n phone about 6 times, harassing me about a payment that I MADE already!! Everyone says they'll "make a note of it". Obviously you're NOT making ANY kind of note if you keep CALLING ME!! >:-( So they called me so much that I started wondering if I DID make the payment so I made another on for $98. Thats $193 in 2 weeks! Again another confirmation email! They continued to call me about these payments until I finally got fed up! Basically, someone on their end had not posted these payments to my account & thats when I realized that these fools hadn't even taken the money from my account!! After I informed them of this & expressed my distaste for the continuing phone calls, they deducted the whole $193 from my account. What a HUGE INCONVENIENCE!! If someone had been on their JOB & credited the payments in the first place this wouldn't have happened! Another problem I have with CC/GEMB is that - and this is by NO MEANS meant to be offensive & if it is, I am terribly sorry!! - the callers that they have working there don't really speak English well, they all have heavy accents which makes it difficult to understand. If I, or anyone else calls in with a problem, we're already ticked off & to have someone talking to you that you don't understand & they don't really understand you is a nuisance sometimes & exacerbates the problem.

This company is a rip-off, so if you can avoid dealing with CC/GEMB, by all means AVOID IT!!! American Laser Centers as well! They trick you into these contracts & you're stuck with a multihundred/thousand bill with a high a$$ APR!

Bad business
I have dealt with a lot of loans in my life and thought that MBNA was really a horrible company to work with. That was until I had surgery and used the in house financing that went through GE Money Bank. They were doing the "No interest for 1 year!" deal so I thought great! WRONG!
I signed up for the electronic funds transfer option so that I would not miss any payments or be late. I read the fine print and it stated that if you were either of these, they would start charging you interest plus late fees. No problems, until three months ago when for some reason they were "unable to access my account" and they were not getting paid. Nothing on my account changed, money was in the account. I talked to a supervisor who ADMITTED that it was on the company end and deleted the fees and put me back on good standing. Since then I get 5 phone calls a week or more telling me that my account is past due and I am being charged interest plus late fees. I even had one woman tell me that I was being charged late fees DAILY! I spoke to another supervisor who said that he saw I had been talked to and that I owed them late fees plus interest. I explained what had happened and asked him what the previous notes said in my file. He didn't know because he never looked at them. This was typical of ALL the people I had talked too. I would talk to one person in the morning about the issue and later that afternoon a different person would call me about the same issue. They were even calling me at work after I asked them not too. I had many associates hang up on me after I asked to speak to a supervisor. I finally just paid of the principal and closed the account. I told them to never contact me again. I will never go through GE Money Bank again and will urge everyone I know to stay clear of them.

They call 12 times a day and hang up!
Ge Money bank has been calling my house at least 12 times a day. When I pick up, no one is there, then the line hangs up. I've called back telling them I no longer have any accounts with them (sold a camper we had financed w/them). They tell me there is nothing he can do about since it's an automated dialing machine. It is so annoying!

they put me on deliquent credit
Hi! The bank GE put my credit on deliquent score because they say that I did not make my payments . They received my checks, but someboby of this bank was steeling my money, and they call me really angry several times saying that I was not paying. So know I have a deliquent credit score, no one wants to give credit.

I keep sending my payments with the bank I have my accounts, but I am not sure if this GE MONEY BANK is going to really received my payments or is going to continue steeling my money.

I call them many times, but they just dont answer the telephone.
PLEASE DONT MAKE ANY DEAL WITH THESE BANK OR WITH THE STORES THAT HAVE ANY AFILIATION WITH GE MONEY BANK.

Charges
DO NOT EVER GO THROUGH GE MONEY BANK FOR ANYTHING!!! Consider this a warning! This is the WORST bunch of people that we have EVER dealt with in our lives! My husband purchased a motorcycle last year and we financed for THREE months with GE Money Bank. After THREE months, we PAID OFF the motorcycle according to THEIR calculations. I called on 12/26/07 for a pay-off. On 12/29/07 I wrote a check FOR THE AMOUNT given to me by the RUDE, OBNOXIOUS BITCH I spoke to on the phone. She told me the pay-off amount was good until 2/05/08!!! As of today, 4/15/08 we have NOT received the title to the motorcycle. We called GE Money Skank and asked where the title was to which we were told: "You have a balance of $38.02!?!?!?!?! WTF? The rude, obnoxious chick on the phone said it was because we sent the pay-off THREE days after we enquired about it!!! WTF? She would NOT let my husband talk, she would NOT listen to ANYTHING, and she would NOT wave this STUPID, PATHETIC so-called "Principal" payment! I am telling you, DO NOT EVER go through this company for ANYTHING!!! It's time we put a STOP to these rip-off companies!!! Thank you!

Payment address switched!
We received a letter from GE Bank stating that our payment had been sent to the wrong address. We used their pre-printed return coupon. In addition, we were never notified that our payment address had been changed. GE Bank should reverse any late charges and remove any negative reports they sent regarding our credit.
