TOO AGRESSIVE
I ONCE HAD A SEARS CARD THAT I OPENED UP WHILE IN FLORIDA FOR A SUMMER AT AGE 20. AFTER THAT I WAS UNABLE TO PAY ON THIS CARD BECAUSE I MOVED TO ALBANY, N.Y. FOR SCHOOL AND MY BILL WAS BEING SENT TO MY HOME TOWN IN SYRACUSE N.Y., THIS LED TO ME NOT PAYING ON TIME AND RECIEVING LATE FEES AND OVER LIMIT FEES THAT I COULD NOT PAY. AFTER DISCUSSING THIS WITH SOMEONE FROM SEARS THEY SAID I COULD JUST PAY IN THE STORE, THIS WAS NOT POSSIBLE BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE A CAR WHILE IN COLLEGE AND THE ONE SEARS IN ALBANY DID NOT HAVE DIRECT BUS ROUTE. I HAD A BALANCE OF ABOUT 300-400 AND DID NOT HERE FROM SEARS FOR A LONG TIME. WITHIN THE LAST YEAR I STARTED GETTING LETTERS AND CALLS FROM SHARINN& LIPSHIE AND THEY TOLD ME I OWED OVER 800 DOLLARS, DOUBLE MY LAST BALANCE. I TOLD THE AGENT WHO CALLED ME I WOULD LIKE TO START PAYING THIS OFF. UNFORTNETLEY, I COULD NOT AFFORD TO GIVE THEM THE CLOSE TO 300 DOLLARS AT THAT TIME, THEY WANTED TO PUT ME ON A PAYMENT PLAN. FAST FOWARD TO DECEMBER 2007 AND THEY NOW WANT ME TO GO TO A CIVIL COURT IN A TOWN I DON'T EVEN LIVE IN ANYMORE.

Over limit fees!
I bought a wedding ring for 7k paying 4k cash and wanting to finance 3k so the jeweler set up an account with GE money, they set up the account for 3k on a 90 day no interest. I didn't think about that until the 90 days were up and i had only paid $300. then the interest kicked in and it put me over the limit which added fees, now making minimum payments i owe 3900.00 a year and a half later. Why would they set the limit for exactly what i wanted to finance? I guess i am one of the suckers that doesn't read fine print.

Returned check fee due to input error!
On 12/16/07, I attempted to make an online payment using GE Money's web site, paying the balance in full roughly one month prior to the end of the promotional period. In noticing the payment did not clear my checking account on 12/19, I contacted the Customer Service area and spoke with a representative. In reviewing the payment information, he indicated that (per his records) the ABA routing data was correct, but per his file, I had inadvertently (or had I?) input an incorrect digit in my account number. He indicated that he would make a note of the input error in the file, and did NOT indicate that a fee would be assessed. He also offered to make the payment for a fee ($15) over the phone, but he confirmed that the payment did not have to be received until mid January to avoid finance charges, so I opted instead to use a statement I had and mail a check in, which I did immediately following my conversation, still with WEEKS to go before expiration of the promotional period.

On 12/20 the above referenced account was assessed a $29.00 Returned Check Fee related to the attempted online payment, despite my having spoken to them on the 19th.

As the information to post a correct entry was provided to GE Money Bank on the 19th, AND I expressed a willingness to have the correct transaction processed at that time (but not for an additional fee), I have been attempting to contact the customer service area to reverse the $29.00 fee upon receipt of my check for the ORIGINAL balance (pre $29 charge) to clear the account balance. At this time I am still trying to make contact with GE Money Bank, but based on others' complaints, I hold little hope for a satisfactory resolution. It appears that they thrive on making it difficult for customers making on time payments in full, and interestingly, afford customers no way to reach customer service online via email, instead forcing interminable waits on their "customer (non) service" line.

I am even wondering whether I actually made an input error, or if GE Money Bank intentionally created the error to generate a return item fee (and possibly finance charges and late fees had I not noticed the error until receipt of my bank statement in January).

Absolutely rude!
I was called be GE Money Bank on 10-27-2007... actually, I was called by somebody over in India representing GEMB stating that I was late on my payment for my account. I asked the person to tell me the balance of my account and he told me the amount. I then said I'd like to pay it off in full instead of just making a payment. He took the info and I asked specifically if this brings the balance to zero and he had said yes. Then this weekend I got a copy of my credit report (annually thru state of CO) and it showed a negative mark on my credit from GEMB and it showed a balance of $45. I immediately called GEMB and spoke to someone in India and told her that I paid it in full in Oct. and she said that there was a $35 fee that was on my account which has since had a $15 late fee attached on to it. I told her I wanted to speak to a manager regarding this and she sent my back stateside to a customer service rep named Dawn. I told her the story and she said the $35 fee was put on on 10-24-2007. I told her that I paid off my account on 10-27 so there should be a $0 balance. she said no there is a $35 balance and that there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to her manager and she said there is no one else and that she was the only one I could deal with and that there was nothing that she could do. I at this point was getting very upset that she was unwilling to listen or help out in any way and she said that there was nothing else she could do so she was going to hang up. In which she did do. I called right back and was put thru again to India and told her of my situation and asked to speak to her boss, she then sent me stateside AGAIN and low and behold who answered the phone... DAWN!! She was very smug when asking me if she can be of service to me and I said I want to speak to someone else and not her. She said that there was NO one else for me to talk to and that I would have to deal with her and her only. I said then forget it and then I hung up on her. I have never in my life encountered such a unprofessional person. Why would I make a payment for exactly $814.17 and then leave a $35 balance?!? If a situation comes up and you are offered a loan thru GEMB... RUN LIKE HELL!!!

Applied interest to paid off account!
I paid off a one year interest free account. This month I had another statement arrive reflecting the interest charges. I paid it well in advance so I would have the balance paid off. They state they never received the payment. I spoke with a Dan Griffee who was very rude to me as a customer. He refused to let me speak with his boss who I was told was named Todd Beutel. He said he would never let me speak with his boss as it was company policy. My interest was $278.91. I am paying off all of my GE Money Bank accounts and closing all of them. From now on I will never do business with and company who uses them to do their finances.

poor service
I am a doctor by profession and was contacted by ge money professionals offering personal loan against credit card. The application was duly filled and the required documents were given but there was no further information from their side. Thats not really a good service and even after contacting them the response is not good. If the service of this sort continues am sorry to say that have end up in a stage where i evenly would never recommend GE MONEY.

Harassing phone calls!
Over the last two months I have received over 100 calls from GE Money Bank asking for Michael Foreman or Holly Chantile... not sure of the spelling. I repeatedly tell them that there is no one by either name at this number. The number they are calling is my cell phone and they are continually using up my minutes which is costing me money. Every time I speak with someone they tell me that they will remove the number from their records but 1/2 later, I get another call and then another and another, etc. I have had about all that I am going to take at this time. I have contacted my lawyer to find out what I can do to rectify this situation. No one individual should have to endure the harassment and aggravation that I have over the last two months. I tried to be nice at first but I am no longer nice when I talk with them on the phone. I am sure they are calling as a bill collector and it is not my bill!! They need to find another way to contact these people and I am sure my attorney can steer them in the right direction!!!

Late Fees and More Late Fees
I just found out how unethical GE Money Bank is. I purchased a DRpower grader though Country Home Products about a year ago, approximately 6 months after the 6 month free trial, I started receiving phone calls from GE Money stating that I was behind in my payments. I stated that this was impossible, because all my monthly payments where made on time every month though my bank online.

To make a long story short.. I was told by GEMB that I was not paying off the purchase quick enough and that the had raised my payment from $30 to $84 a month. As of today, I'm $384 behind in late fees. It will be a cold day in hell before I give GEMB anymore money, I will be contacting my attorney to see what recourse I have to put a stop to this rip-off.

One of the reasons I purchased the DRpower grader, was the advertisement on Country Home Products website **Flexibility to make low monthly payments or pay in full. (see below)

I will never do business with GEMB again!!!

miscommunication of services
Hello my name is Brian Simon. I am a current credit card applicant with Ge money bank . I was emailing you all to address my disgust with the car care 1 credit card services that you provide. I applied for your credit card at Northshore Toyota in Covington, La. Upon application, I was told that my credit card would be accepted at any Toyota in the Gulf States region. Now today(Nov 29, 2007), I go into the durham toyota which is the hammond, la location, and they tell me that they don't accept the car care one credit card. I call to speak with one of your cs reps and they told me that they just discontinued their dealing with Durham Toyota in Hammond, la. Now, I feel that I was totally uninformed about this sudden change and I feel that I should have been given some kind of notice stating this sudden move. Now I'm at the cashier's desk and Im having to figure another method of payment when I should've been able to count on Car care one. You all have really put me in a serious bind. This is not how you treat your "valued" customers. Again let me say that I am thoroughly diappointed with the service that you are providing. Furthermore, I feel that you all need to be a tad bit more informative with the folks you do business with. I can't read minds how was i suppose to know that you all suddenly discontinued doing business with Durham Toyota.

APR overcharge
GE Money Bank applied a 26.99% APR for late payment when the maximum default APR
on the back of the contract is 24.99% what can I do about this? Is the Attorney General
may only alternative?
