GE Money Bank should be ashamed of itself!
I mailed payments for my account on November 3rd. I have always made payments on time and usually made more than the minimum payment. I received a call from GE's collections dept yesterday. I could barely understand her because she was in INDIA. These big companies should be ashamed of themselves. (I digress) she wanted me to make another payment on the phone with her. Their is no way I was going to give her my banking info over the phone to someone in INDIA. So now I have to watch my bank account to make sure it gets posted.

Scam and cheating!
Monies paid are not"processed" through their bank unless and until it suits what you owe and when your payment is due in a manner that causes either an extra payment leaving them to hold your money collecting your interest or by causing you a late fee. On top of this, all you get to talk to are foreigners who could care less about the situation and don't listen. There are two aspects of doing business; either legally or morally. If businesses are "legal" then they do not have to be moral. This is the kind of business practice rampant in the world and will be noted in the history of this world as a determining factor in it's demise; which is fast coming. GREED!

Credit card slammed!
I received a credit card from GE Money Bank for Dick's Sporting Good Master Card. I called GS MoneyBank and reported that I had not applied for a credit card with them. Essentially they refuse to deal with me unless I give them my social security number. From what I can read on line GE Money Bank doesn't seem reputable, so I am hesitant to give them my social security number and birthdate.
Recently I received a bill stating charges had been made in a State at least 300 miles from where I live. any suggestions beside reporting it to the credit bureau which i intend to do...

Horrible customer care service!
I'll try to make this short. As a law student, it appealed to me that GE Money CC promised 0%. (No finance charges until I was employed and could make larger payments.)
1. They reduced my credit limit by $6000 all of a sudden for no reason.
2. They began charging me finance charges. When I inquired, they called it a glitch and credited me every month.
3. After several months of me calling every month to fix this "glitch," I was transferred to a supervisor who rudely said the finances charges were due to a late payment. (FIRST TIME IM HEARING ABOUT THIS SO CALLED LATE PAYMENT)
4. Frustrated and unable to communicate with this supervisor, i closed the account.
5. In an attempt to get GE Money out of my life forever, I made a balance transfer which showed up as having gone through.
6. two weeks later, I get a call from GE collections saying that the transfer didn't go through and was charged a late fee AND a bounced check fee.
7. The other financial institution said that GE MONEY rejected their transfer.
8. GE MONEY denied this - and refused to credit me the fees. One rep even accused me of telling a "story."
On top of it all, I cant ever communicate with a customer representative who understands what I am saying!

Outrageous fees poor service!
Their monthly fees are extremely out of control. How can this be legal. Very poor customer service, they do not stand behind what they say they will do to work with you.

Unfair credit practice!
I applied for a Modell's Dual Credit Card through GE Money Bank. The promotion was if your credit was approved you would receive 15% off plus you would receive a gift in the store. I know my credit is great, yet they denied me. When I received the reason as to why, Equifax stated that GE Money Bank could not verify my identity. I supplied my drivers license plus another credit card. The letter said nothing about my credit PERIOD. I believe it's a gimic to get you in the store, and they deliberately try to find a reason to deny customers so they won't have to honor the 15% nor the gift. I am sending a copy of this complaint to my attorney for unfair practice. They had a checkmark on my denial letter which states "unable to verify identity." If that's the case, how did they know where to send the letter? It came straight to my address.

Paid ontime GE Money reversed the payment!
Back in 2006 I purchased carpeting and tile through Empire Carpet. At the time they offered a deferred billing option through GE Money. Understanding the exorbitant finance charges if not paid on time and knowing I would pay it off on time I signed off and took the line of credit.
Jump to July 2007 when the first payment is due. I paid the balance with a check through the mail. Within a week I received another statement stating it had been paid. The following month I received yet another statement stating the check was rejected for insufficient funds and not only did I get the original charge but additional charges for returned check fee, late fees, finance charges and over the limit charges. I immediately contacted my bank to determine why an account with funds in it would be bounced. They said to get back in touch with GE Money and have them contact my bank directly and they would validate funds. I contacted GE who said I had to send them a fax immediately showing statements from my bank on those dates to verify that the finds were indeed available. Of course no one can come up with a copy of the bounced check because it does not exist.
To quickly sum up GE Money has never called me back. When I call back they say they need a letter sent (another?!) but no finance charges have been removed. I have again paid off the total amount and now paid the 800+ in finance charges to keep me credit rating clean and not allow these robbers to continue to hit me with erroneous charges (they sent me to collections too).
It is too bad that honest people get taken advantage by credit scams like these. I just recently went online and queried GE Money complaints and found dozens with the same exact complaint- paid but rejected. I wish someone could do something about them.
They won again.

RUDE
I OWED A REMAINING $468.39 TO HAVE MY ACCOUNT PAYED OFF, I SENT THE PAYMENT IN FULL 6 DAYS BEFORE IT WAS DUE, BUT IT FELL ON COLUMBUS DAY SO THEY RECEIVED THE PAYMENT ONE DAY LATE AND CHARGED ME A LATE FEE OF $29.00, WHEN I CALLED TO ASK THEM TO LET IT GO YHEY SAID NO! THEIR REASON WAS I HAD PAYMENTS THAT WERE BEHIND BEFORE . I CANT FIGHT THAT I DID AND NO EXCUSE IS A GOOD ONE. BUT MY POINT WAS I DID PAY THE BALANCE OFF AND I HAVENT PURCHASED ANYTHING FROM THAT STORE IN OVER A YEAR!! WHEN I OFFERED TO MAKE A PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE THEY SAID SURE BUT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME AN ADDITIONAL $15.00! YOU BETTER BELIEVE I'M CHECKING INTO THIS I ALREADY HAVE BBB INVOLVED AND I INTEND TO KEEP ON THIS BECAUSE THIS JUST DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT!!!

Paypal Credit Card
Ge MoneyBank has turned over a debt of 1311.00 to this company NCO collection agency. I have only had the paypal credit card for a few monthas and have eben trying to pay. I guess trying doesn't count. The minmum payments increased and they charged me $50 late fess this past month. I took out a cash advancne ,big mistake, to help save our house which increased the bill. They harass you over the phone a well .I read all terms. They closed my Paypal Credit card and I cant' use it. It didnt expire until July of 2008. Sure I ran a little behind but doesn't everyone at times? I received no warning this would happen.

Poor customer service/liars
Recently on 10/6/07 I was in my local Belk store & as they always do, I was asked if I'd like to open a Belk charge to save on my purchases. I was making a large purchase so said OK. I got my temporary card# and the cashier said oh I'm sorry and withdrew it advising I would get a letter of explanation in the mail. I got that letter yesteray, 10/20/07. It directed me to contact GE Money Bank, apparently the backer for the Belk CC. No number was give and the reason given for declination was UNABLE TO VERIFY IDENITY. Well, having never seen this I called Belk who could not believe there was no ph# for GE Money Bank, after reading their complaints on line I see why. Belk though called them while I was on the line, they put a rep on the line who was nice & said he'd try to get this approved & that they had attempted to call me on the home ph# 3 time to verify my identity. I told them I was at work & have an answ mach & no messg left. Asked why they didnt call the other 2 #s one of which is my cell & w/me all the time. He said there were no other #s on the application. I told him I was looking at my application & indeed all 3 #s were there. I asked how he confirmed someone called me and he said b/c it was written on my file. I told him if anyone called they didnt leave a message and could we verify it now, he went to a supervisor & put him on the phone, a guy NAMED ERIC. He sounded more like one of those bill collectors...you know the type you hear about on the tv ads....he said he WAS NOT GOING TO APPROVE IT NOW BECAUSE I DIDNT ANSWER THE FIRST 3 TIMES THEY TRIED TO CALL. For goodness sake, I work during the day....I will write a long letter to Belk on Monday and suggest they look on this webiste (complainsboard.com) and perhaps look to another vendor to handle their credit cards. Thank goodness they didnt approve me so I didnt get hooked up with these sheisters and liars.....
