Over payment
On May 15, 2007, I inadvertently paid $1200.oo to GE Money Bank on an account in which I had a zero balance. I have been calling since May to get the refund on the over payment of the account only to be told the check is in the mail, it got lost because of the fourth of July, it takes 30 days for a refund, it takes 45 days for a refund and the excuses continue. It has been over 60 days and I know that they would not tolerate waiting that period of time for their money, this company is a sham and has the worst customer service skills around. I will never use any GE products again nor shall I ever endorse the financial aspects of this company. Does anyone have any advice or contacts to get my money refunded? Thanks.

GE Money - cheating customer!
It is interesting to find some complaints on GE Money Bank in USA here. The reason I say that is because I can see I am not the only one who has problems with GE Money, but the only difference is I live in UK so my complaint is against GE Money UK.
Cut the long complicated story short, my parents found a construction company, which is contracted to GE Money UK, to build a conservatory at their property. This company started the job in January 2007 and stopped the job two weeks later. The conservatory has never been finished and it is full of problems. So instead of dealing with the cowboy builders, I decided to contact GE Money UK.
The first communication made to GE Money UK was back in February 2007, I tried to post some photos to GE Money UK to point out what the problems were and how crap the job was. It took GE Money UK 3 months to force the construction company to fix the door lock and release the keys. And now 6 months since the job first started, apart from hundreds of calls, emails and letters were made and sent, nothing else has done at all. I simply don't understand why it is so difficult and painful for GE Money UK to sort out the problems.
All GE Money UK needs to do is to say to the construction company they have done a crap job and they won't get paid, then find another better and more reliable company to complete the job. Why a simple job like this could get so difficult to finish??

Unfair charges and taking advantage
This company is the most deceitful loan company i have dealt with. I got a loan for $2,000 a year and a half age, supposed to interest free, somehow i still owe $1,400. I pay $84 a month and 30 of it goes to interest. I was not informed up front, i feel like i was completely taken advantage of. If you can avoid it, do not get a loan with this company. I got mine through drivers auto in spring. They will screw you over and not give a damn about it.

Promotional balance
No interested for 18 months. I paid on time on there web site and on the same time I scheduled the next payment, come to find out you can't do that. You have to wait a day or two before you schedule a payment after making an online payment..
Of course the unethical company GE is, they added on all the accrued interested from last year... I complained, asked for a supervisor with no result...
I now plan on going after the CEO and CFO. Maybe ever try small claims court.
I plan on paying off the balance and put it on another card with a promotional interested rate and close my acc0unt and never buy or do business with any company or product related with GE ever again if possible...

Reissue of credit card!
I have had a discover card with GE Money Bank for 3 years, never late on a payment. The renewal approached and they decided not to renew my card since my husband and I have graduated college in the past 24 months and are income has increased by 5 times we have more revolving accounts and have a higher debt with an over 800 credit rating. I guess I am not deserving of there over 20% interest rate when all my current are zero to six percent. I guess the companies that reward increased income and good credit are those who do not need to rip me off or maybe its because I pay off my credit cards and do not carry long term balances that was an inconvenience to this company.
Beware!

Inflated interest rates!
Lowe's recently transferred my account to a GE Money Bank Platinum Card. While I appreciated the credit limit increase from $1500 to $7500, GE is now charging 19.24% for purchases! Not only did Lowe's do away with the 12-months no interest/no payments option, but GE is unwilling to negotiate the APR!
I have no intention of carrying a balance with GE Money Bank and have already begun the process to transfer the balance to another creditor at a 6.99% APR.
GE Money Bank handled the Paypal Visa card which I've also closed due to the inflated interest rates. If more people revolt against such predatory lending, perhaps GE will realize that the value of all consumers.

Title held hostage!
I purchased a used KTM dirtbike in the spring of 2005. I had been making all of my payment on time until a bad divorce put me in a bad spot. I soon fell behind on my payments and my account with GE went to collections. Since then I have sold my house and settled the account with GE.(that was in jan 07) As part of the settlement agreement, GE was supposed to sent me the title to the bike... that was SIX months ago. I tried repeatedly to get through to them with no luck. Each time I finally reached a live body at GE I was Quickly and rudely referred to another phone number with another rude employee who was not only unwilling to help, but unwilling to let me speak to a supervisor. I was sent in circles for 3 days with no results, each department saying to call another department. I have been forced to hire a lawyer on MY dime to get the title that belongs to me, and now they are giving him the runaround! Today I finally had enough and gave them an ultimatum... send me my title or we are going to court and seeking damages. Meanwhile I have a bike I cannot ride, register, sell, and losing value!

They block me from paying and charge me for non-payment
I signed up for PayPal buyer credit, and spent around $700 in various products online. When time to pay my bill came, I submitted all of my information, double checked it, and didn't worry about it. The ONLY way for me to see the account was to go through the PayPal website. I thought that was strange, but didn't think to much about it. I pay ALL of my bills online, so opted to not receive paper statements, just email notifications of when I had an Estatement. Several weeks later I got a message from them stating that my account would not allow for payment on the bill, and they charged me a $30 late fee as they waited until after the bill was due to notify me that it had been blocked. I called my bank because I didn't understand what may have happened. There was more than enough money in my account to cover the payment. They said that neither PayPal nor GE Money Bank (the actual bank the credit line is through) had attempted to withdraw funds. So I re-entered my information online and tried again - with the same result, and another $30 late fee. The next time I tried via the phone system. They charge you a $15 fee just to make a payment via the phone system, but I tried it anyway - all with yet the same result AGAIN, and yet ANOTHER $30 late fee. Then PayPal decided to "cut off" my credit line, since they showed no payments on it - and took the link off of my paypal page. Now I can not log into my account online, and don't get paper statements. I attempted to call the help line after I found out the phone payment also has been rejected by the bank only to hear that to talk to a person would charge me ANOTHER $30 fee!!! All the while my bank has been telling me that there have been no attempts to withdraw the funds from my account. This is unbelievable that somewhere on their end they are messing up my payments, charging me late fees for it, and then not allowing me access to my account to even get statements. In order to talk to a person it will cost me even more! I now have over $100 in fees that I shouldn't have at all. I want to mail them a payment but can't even get their address or my account number.

Scammed again
I am a young highschool/ now college student. I needed dental work and had no insurance. The dentist signed me up for a credit line thru GE MONEY BANK. For $150. in charges I am now up to almost 1k. GE Money bank calls me on a regular basis 6-8 times A DAY. I finally talked to a young man who set me up taking money from my bank account on an escalating fee. He assured me that I would be paid off in a years time. As I am a younger person, and not saavy in being stuck, I assumed all was well. The money seemed to be coming from my account and the phone calls stopped. For six months. Then I get an alarming call from a collection agency - Arrowhead collection demanding almost 1k. When I asked them why and for what they told me they didn't know just that they were told to get this money. They had no access to GE MONEYBANKS records. Just that they want the money. It should be known that the collection firm isn't even in the US. In any event, in order to try and clear this up, I called GE MONEYBANK today just to be told that as it is in collection there is nothing more they can do for me. I asked them to send me a printout of all of our written and verbal communication, which they said they cannot do unless it is in writing.
I am sending this today - but from what is posted on GOOGLE, blatant for all to see, they probably will not respond to this as well.
Can anyone help me with this dilemma? Is there anything that protects consumers from this or is this yet another documented proof that the Credit card companies in this country have totally bought their way into the lawmakers of this Country who no longer are for the people but are for the Credit Card people?

GE Money Bank thinks I'm dead and can't fix it!
Twelve days ago my Wal-Mart credit card, apparently owned by GE Money Bank, was denied. When I phoned Customer Service I was told I was deceased. It has taken 12 days, so far, to call, have them correct the error and then, the next day, see it fall back into the deceased pile. I was surprised to learn most of the people I spoke with aren't even in the US and didn't understand time zones! I was given different hours of operations from different associates. They don't even know when they're OPEN!
I was told that when I submitted a Death Certificate for my late wife (two years ago) they couldn't match her name or social security number (although, at that time, they closed her account and accepted my payment to them) so they matched the address and closed the only existing account. I closed my wife's account two months after her death. My account had been closed within the last 30 days.
I've been disconnected from being put on hold for too long, have been told 4 times that my account was corrected and STILL am unable to use my Wal-Mart Credit Card. I was told they sent a notification to the Credit Bureaus that I'm not actually dead, but that it would take 30-45 days to correct that error.
I've never experienced such ineptness and incompetence! GE Money Bank, get it together and get some people who can perform their duties CORRECTLY!
