overcharges and horrible customerservice
GE Money Bank has the worst Customer service. Bought an entertainment center on a promotional plan for 2 years interest free from Rooms to Go and was told that as long as there was some payment made everymonth there will be no additional charges. GE changed the account without promotion and the Customer Service was horrendous the people were IMPATIENT AND ARGUMENTATIVE WITHOUT LISTENING TO THE CUSTOMER. Finally got somebody to change it back to the promotional rate which was coded as a new purchase and a deadline of when it has to be paid. There was late fees as GE decides the minimum payment and if you did not see your statement it is your fault. The answer you get from GE is that it is your problem that you did not check your statement as to how much you have to pay. To make this short, I purchased an entertainment center for around 850 and I ended up paying 1300 for this even when my so called promotional date without interest is supposed to be ending in September 2010. Tough economic times for everybody but to rip off people who actually make a payment and then they sell a protection plan which they fail to mention as a recurring charge everymonth. GE needs to look at some Customer service training and also how it does business when they sell their products through stores. SO MY ADVICE TO ALL OF YOU IS PLEASE CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS IF YOU GET THEN AS GE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAYS IT IS NOT THE STORES RESPONSIBILITY OR GE'S RESPONSIBILITY TO LET YOU KNOW OF ALL THE CONDITIONS THAT ARE THERE AND OH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES WILL ACTUALLY HANG UP ON YOU.

FRAUDULANT CHARGES
Over a year and a half ago I had to get some dental work done and was told that Care Credit would be able to help me finance this. I decided to use their automatic payment system as I didn't want to have to worry about it. When it was paid off in March of 2009, I ended up having to use Care Credit once again but told them I did not want it to be an automatic payment that I wanted the bill sent to me and that I would pay it by check. I also took out the insurance that if I lost my job, my debt would be paid in full. What a crock of crap! This company only survives by its fraudulant business means. They never stopped my automatic withdrawal. I called again in April and again in June thinking that hey maybe something happened. Well, something happened alright. They didn't do what they were suppose to have done and continued to take out my payments. I ended up making two payments...sending them a check and they were taking it out of my bank account. I should have looked a little closer at my bill...my bad...but I have a tendency to take people at their word. I sure learned my lesson. I lost my job on June 4th and contacted Care Credit/GE Money Bank as I knew I had the insurance for this...What a relief! Huh! They said that I needed to fill out a form and had to wait 90 days before anything could be done. I had to send in proof of my unemployment compensation payments and my gross pay while I was working. This was done...They continued to tell me that I did not do what I was suppose to have done...sending in the correct paperwork. I actually had to pay to obtain my pay history as my former place of employment would not provide these and I did not have a hard copy of my paystubs...(it's a long story of why I didn't). Care Credit/GE Money Bank refused to accept this. On the insurance for the unemployment it said that I could send in my last two pay stubs OR proof of my pay stubs (which I sent) OR something else to that effect...There were options and I sent in what was required. They still are billing me. I am not going to pay them. I did my part. I have contacted the Attorney General's office regarding this and will make sure that people know what a bad company this is and to not get involved with them if they can help it. I am going to try to get this in the paper somehow so others can be warned. I have been stepped on one too many times and I am not going to take this sitting down. Mark my words...they have not heard the last of me.

Credit Card "Fraud Protection"
I cannot believe these guys! They have called me 3 times in 6 months for "fraud protection". What this means is that each time I use my Ebay/PayPal credit card, they hold or cancel the transaction and then call me to confirm the card isn't stolen. It has happened to me out of the country and in, and always hurts me. This last time (1 hour ago) I made a purchase of hotel reservations online at a great price...and instead of using my bank credit/debit card, I stupidly used their card. The worst part, is that I called to check it was OK to use, and then clicked the "purchase" button while on the phone with them! They then called me 2 hours later and left a message from fraud services. I called them and they asked me all sorts of security questions, even though I had just been on the phone with them! They then said the purchase was canceled and that I had to buy them again...but they were all sold out right after I bought them! I told them and they said sorry they cannot allow the purchase I made, I have to make a new one. They are the worst, customer care non-existent, canceling this card ASAP!
DO NOT GET THE EBAY/PAYPAL MASTERCARD, IT IS GE MONEY BANK, AND THEY ARE THE WWWWOOOOORRRRSSSTTTT!

Rude customer service
Bought new air conditioners and financed over 20K with GE Money. My husband and I had to each open an account as the maximum was 15K. I made my first payment over the phone because the online process wasn't available. Made the second payment via my banks online bill pay and accidentally switched the payments. Sent my payments to my husbands account and his to mine which left my account with an amount due. I discovered the problem immediately and contacted GE Money to explain the error and to get the amounts credited to the correct accounts. After 6 phone calls, all promising to take care of the problem, nothing was done. Today we called and asked to speak with a supervisor, again. The hold message stated that "the escalation department was experiencing high call volume." The escalation department?? We were connected with a supervisor who told us they would not transfer the payments to the correct accounts and that they didn't need to fix my mistake. I just needed to pay the difference that was due. When confronted about all the previous conversations with other GE Money employees including supervisors..she stated there was nothing she could do. When I asked to speak with her supervisor, she refused. Consumer's beware...GE Money could care less about their customers.

Daily balance increasing without charges
GE Money Bank has started calculating the average daily balance on an amount higher than the card balance with no change in rate, no charges, no promotional rates ending... we have tried several times by phone and in writing and no one in the company can explain why they are calculating our interest on an amount we don't owe.

BEWARE
I have made several payments online then when my bank changed my checking acount # I updated it on thir data base using my profile and submitted a payment. That was when my problems started with them. They seem to hire people who speak in tounges or some strange language and can't understand English, and claim they don't have access to a Fax Machine. Now anyone knows that any big or small company must own a Fax Machine so that a plain Lie!!! I was goig to send them proof of checks they claimed were returned had cleared my bank meanwhile they where accusing me of inputting the wrong information and charging me $29.00 for returned check fees. Mind you, I was only required to pay $15.00/mo. but was trying to pay them $150.00- $200.00-$80.00.
When all this happened I had noproblems with my online payments to Visa, Verizon, Utilities, just them maybe it was their data base that fouled up? They closed my line of Credit and left me with bad mark.
Don't ask to speak to anybody in their Customer Service Division because their useless!

BE AWARE!!!
I was very very very late on some payments for an HHGregg card I used to have(i know i am the only one to blame for being late). I got a small loan and contacted my creditors to pay off my debt. The 1 and only company that I had trouble with out of 6 companies that I already dealt with was GEMoney bank. I called and requested that they send me a fax with a signature to prove that we settled. Also to prove it will be the last of my payments to them and that my account would be closed after I pay the agreed amount. The response I got was "we don't offer those services". First of all, no offense to foreigners, I couln't understand what they were saying. Second, any legit company will be glad to send documentation on an account. ESPECIALLY if they know they will get paid if they do!!! The man was extremely rude and acted like he thought I was stupid. All I asked for was proof of the agreed amount so it wouldn't come back and bite me in the "you know what" someday. I wanted to be smart about payin off my debt. I've heard of people verbally agreeing to paid in full but still get calls because the company they paid sold it to another company. I didn't want that to happen to me. They definetly have negetive marks in my book. Now I don't know what to do. I'm not going to pay them and then my money mysteriously not be accounted for. Now my credit is going to have to suffer even more because they "don't offer the services" a.k.a. a fax machine!!!
