Scaring EMI Payment method
I took a loan (A/C No.RDLR00662560) through GE Money in New Delhi. I surprised that they never present EMI checks to my bank for clearing. I called up so many time their call center phone number (39022000), requesting them to present my check in my bank. But they don't care.

Every month they send collection agent to my home for collecting EMI in cash. Why these guys are calling for EMI & receiving cash from my home. I requested them please get checks all of your EMI's if you have any problem. But they don't listen. They told me that they will receive your EMI in cash only from your residence. It is very ridiculous. For the last two months they have not called. AND not coming to my residence. Now I got a notice from GE Money regarding Non Payment of EMI.

IS it the appropriate procedure for collecting EMI? I need to report this issue with GE Money India head.

Poor service!
I have taken loan against my property from GE Money (Pitam pura Branch, Delhi) in April-2004. I took loan for ten years but because of sufficient money I payed their balance amount in April 2007. After one month they return all my property papers, but they are not gave my Balance PDC's and NOC. They said that after fifteen day I will receive NOC and my Balance PDS's from Courier, but that is only an assurance or nothing because right now after four month still I am not received any PDC's and NOC. For my PDC's and NOC I complaint every week from the date of full and final payment of my loan, but no positive response I receive, Right now they says that NOC will not Provide to you I ask resign why NOC will not provide me after final payment of loan, they said that in case of Loan against property they are not provide me NOC. Think this is possible that is fair. I complaint thousand times on their customer care, but they cut my phone after ask my name.

Harassment in the name of Insurance with Loan
I have taken loan against my property from GE Money Mahim Branch, Mumbai in July-07. I wish to share 2 instances.

1. Rate of Interest

My loan was sanctioned @ 13 % p.a. rate of interest. I signed the sanction letter accordingly. Subsequently, I came to know that they are charging interest @ 13.50%. I was never intimated, nor did they take my signature. May be they have forged my sign.

2. Insurance payment

One month after applying loan, I was told that it is sanctioned, but on the condition that I take insurance with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Co. with annual premium of Rs. 50,000 compulsorily. I was told by Mr. Ravi from Mahim Branch that if I don't take it, my file will be returned to me. It was like blackmailing when applicant is in need. Subsequently, I came to know that it was not compulsory. Hence I denied that. Now, they are harrassing me by calling everyday & sending some person to my house in my absence. I am fad up with such harassment.

Beware of GE Money. Think twice before you apply.

Bad customer service and fraudulent charges!
I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU... If you have experienced similar problems, you should too!!! I applied for a Care Credit credit card approx 4 years ago and use the card only for my sons dentist and ortho bills. In 2006, I asked for an increase in credit limit to allow for my sons braces and it was granted.

In Dec. 2006, I found that every time I made a payment of $78.00, my balance was going up, not down. I called Care Credit very upset about this, and no one could help me, nor understand me, nor could I understand them. I stated stated that I was considering closing my account.

A few months later, when calling in for another reason, I found that my account had been closed per my request. I never requested this, however because the representative, who can not speak nor understand English, decided that this is what I wanted, this is what happened. I told Care Credit that I did not request this, and they have told me, as they have everytime I have called them for any reason, that there is nothing they can do.

On July 9, 2007, I called Care Credit because I found once again, that I am paying $120 per month and my balance continues to go up. It seems that they tacked on a deferred interest amount that brought my card over the limit and they are charging me $29.00 in over the limit fees. So for each $120.00 payment I make, the balance goes up by $15.00. As you can see, these amounts will get larger as time goes by because it adds to my balance and I am getting charged interest on interest. I asked to speak to a supervisor on this call as well, and was told I could not. No one was available. I was then told that some one would call me... no one did.

I called back on July 9 to pay off my card with a credit card that I wanted to transfer that balance to so that it would not be a financial hardship on me. I was told by Care Credit that they could not do this because it had to be from my checking account. My guess is because they want to make it as hard as possible to get out from under the card because they are gouging their customers and this is the way they make their money... so why would they make it easy for you to pay off the card!!

On July 11th, I called and spoke to a supervisor named Natasha. I was told that she was sorry, there was nothing she could do. I explained to her that I did not request this account be closed, and she stated she was sorry, but it says I requested it. I explained that I did not request this, and she stated I could re-apply. I would not have a problem with the account being closed if it did not impact my credit score. However, it does. I don't feel that a representative from India who can't speak our language should have the power to affect my credit score because he thinks I said something that I did not say, but because he typed it into the system, it is what stands.

I do not feel that Care Credit / GE Money treat their customers fairly. I don't believe they should be able to impact my credit score based on what a representative THOUGHT I said, or decided possibly that because I was upset and threatened to close my account that they could take it upon themselves to just do so. This was not my wish and was not my intent at the time. Only a thought.

I do not believe that they should be allowed to deny payments of any kind.

They need to give better customer service.

Fraudulent practices!
1. GE Money deliberately causes check payment to not process on time in order to make improper charges for over due payments.

2. GE Money deliberately makes communications nearly impossible by using call centers in India to field calls to people living in the USA. The India staff has very low command of the English language s and they hide behind the statement they cannot see the account information on their system.

3. I have made a proper payments on time. In the past 6 months this has occurred 2 times. The last time this occurred I had the problem corrected by a US based agent as he could see the problem.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GE MONEY. THEY TRAP YOU INTO A HIGH INTEREST RATE LOAN AND THEN REFUSE TO CREDIT YOU PAYMENTS SO THEY CAN CHARGE EVEN MORE FEES. THIS IS A FRAUDULENT BUSINESS!

Missing cheques!
These guys are not sparing any customers. I have used car loan running with this GE Money. I paid Rs. 18,520 in cash for last 4 installments. I also paid Rs. 500 as the swapping charges of cheques besides 18 cheques of my Sydicate bank account. I made the payments on April 4, 2007 and the money was not credited to my account till may 2,2007. I went to their Pitam Pura office, then the money was credited after I spent more than 4 hrs there. They also promised me that my next cheque will hit my new account but... did not appeared as yet. I already closed my last ABN AMRO account. Two days back collection guy called me and used a foul language, because they presented the old cheque in old account. Now I am worried about my 18 cheques those I gave from my new account.

Is someone knows Mr. Vishal Pandit's contact details (CEO & President, GE Money India) ??... pls give me... because let us know him what kind of fraud are being done by his colleagues.

ID theft
I'm ID theft victim. Fraud account was open at GE MONEY and for now I've provided a lot of evidences that it was NOT me but company doesn't listen to me. If you're in the same situation, please contact me and I think we can fight more effective if we're together.

Customer service left me in a state of panic and upset!
I came into contacted with GE Money through a car finance deal i took approx 11 months ago... even though at the time i was aware the monthly payments were slightly above what i could afford on a monthly basis, my eyes were bigger than my bank account and i took the finance.

Some months later, I contacted GE Money to explain I was finding making payments on my account increasingly difficult and asked my account manager if she could suggest any means for me to over come this difficulty. I was met with a simple ‘no’. I tired to explain to her that this would not help the situation for anyone however she did not see fit to look into the matter.

Eventually I was able to gather the money to clear the full amount on the loan and contacted GE Money by letter,to advise them of same and that they would have the balance of th loan in full in approx 2 weeks, to which i got no reply.

No more than one week later I received a letter from GE Money stating my agreement was terminated. I contacted my account manager the next day querying this letter. She told me that because I was in arrears this letter was sent to me. I asked her why I was not contacted to advise me that regardless of my clearing the account in a matter of weeks this notice was going to be sent to me. I can only say I got no satisfaction from her. She continued to speak over me and did not give me an opportunity to air my grievances over the matter.

She even went as to query where i was getting the money from to clear the account and asked me did i expect her to believe i was in fact going to clear this account. I was gobsmacked... i could not believe my ears... i ended the call and was left in a state of panic and upset.

I have since cleared my loan with GE Money and can only STRONGLY recommend that regardless of how much you love your new car/ tv or whatever it is you crave it is not worth your sanity by dealing with GE Money!

It's going to be a nightmare
I owed $400-some to my dentist who referred me to GE Money. The doc said that whatever I owe, I could pay off in 12 months with no interest, same as cash. I just divided the total by 12 months and sent the first payment in. Now I received a statement on which they charged me the finance charge. When I called their customer service, I was told that 12-month same-as-cash applies only to the amount of at least $1000. Well, this is not what I was told by my dentist. It's going to be a nightmare, especially that now I am on a temporary disability and don't work. I fell a victim to some smart sales tactics.
