I have one account which I have set up for an automated payment. I have been trying to add another account on. I contact them to tell then that I can't do it. So the women walked me through all steps and I was unable to get anywhere. I said I should be allowed to get into my accounts. But No I can't so I asked her if I make a payment over the phone since your site is messed up she told me I would be charges $10.00. WHY! It is not late and it will not cost them athing since I can do it from my computer on my first account FREE... This is bull shit and all needs to stop...

collection efforts
For almost two years a GE Money collection representative has been calling my mother-in-law’s phone number asking to speak with an individual we do not know, demanding payment on a loan that we do not have. We have explained to the caller that these calls are being made to an incorrect number, but no one at GE is evidently willing or able to correct this problem. So far there have been well over 200 collection calls made to my wife’s mom in this two-year period. We are logging these calls, some of which have been made in the middle of the night, and will be turning this log over to the CT Attorney General’s office. AVOID THIS LENDER!!!

High -handedness of Vivek Sharma -the Prop of Guru Kirpa Collection Agency based in Ludhiana
I, Jaspal Singh, resident of # 25/3, Ranchi Colony, Threekay road, Ludhiana-J Block, Railway crossing, ludhiana had a housing loan with NBFC GE Money and which had run into delinquency due to great losses incurred.My case was with the collection agency of GE Money i.e. Guru Kirpa Inc located at 6, Ist Floor Pink Flats Pakhowal Road Ludhiana-141001.Prop.Mr.Vivek Sharma who is a real goon.He came to my place and threatened me and my wife Gurmeet Kaur with dire consequences that he will get my house auctioned and that the company will take possession of it if i did not comply with his demands of surrendering my White i10 Magna car to him which still had temporary no.upon it and was in the name of my son Gurpreet Singh, at a much lower price which i was getting in the market and thus blackmailed me.He said the he will never get me the settlement letter from the company and will thus ruin me.I will be attaching the two documents with the said complaint.Therefore, i got frightened and surrendered my i10 car to him and signed the relevant papers in his name.The car is still with him which you can verify and is lying at his place-1589 Sector-32-A, Chandigarh Road Ludhiana-141010 which he has conveniently gifted to his wife.Now my complaint to you is that is this fair practice where all the norms and guidelines of RBI are being flouted and the said person is making a mockery of them.I complained to the company GE Money also but nothing came out of it.He is still running scot-free and is threatening other customers and taking bribes from them in cash or kind.His mobile no.is 9872001878.All the things can be verified and proved but i have been running pillar to post to procure justice for me and my family.That's why now i am complaining to you.Please do something so that the high-handedness can be stopped.

Goods insurance
I Have just had the most awful customer service from GE Money that has left me close to tears.
I have been charged a goods insurance fee that should have been deducted in February 2008. The woman on the phone was demeaning and kept speaking over top of me. She stated that the proof of insurance I submitted in February 2008 was only a quote and a letter was sent out to me explaining this. I have never received such a letter, if i had i would have called the insurance company and sorted this ASAP! The letter I provided was in fact straight from ASB bank on the day that I had commenced contents insurance. I have proof on my bank account statements that I have been insured from day one but this woman did not seem to care. Since when were customer service staff so unfriendly? I will never deal with GE money ever again.

Late Fees
My husband received a credit card through GE Money to pay for our Hanson windows in March 2009. Started to receive monthly statements soon after the installment of my windows. Out of the 7 months, I had missed one payment (even though they state we our late every month) due to error on my part and they charged me a late fee of $39.99 and increased my APR from 15% to 26.99%. I never received notice of the increase just showed up on my monthly statement.

I currently mail all my other payments at least 7 days before the due date of payment but yet I still receive a late fee of $39.99. I have called GE Money several times and I continue to get the same answer, "sorry, we received your payment late, cannot help you and we have no control over the mail". Every month when I receive my statement I receive a late fee. I keep calling GE Money to tell them I mailed my payment a week in advance but they continue to state they received my payment late. I called GE Money today and spoke with a supervisor by the name of Sharon. I told her the whole story and asked why do they continue to charge late fees when the payment is not late. Sharon stated "we received the payment late".I am not sure how that is possible when we mail out our payment a few days in advance? Sharon responded "sorry, we do not control the mail. There is nothing we can do for you. GE cannot adjust the late fee nor can they change the APR". Sharon stated we could write upper management in El Paso, Texas but I am not sure what good that will do??? We continue to receive late fees when we send payment way in advance and because of that we have a sky rocket APR. I owe more on my windows now then when I made the initial purchase!! Something has to be done!

I called another credit card company to have my balance transferred from GE Money! This company is a scam and they need to be stopped.

Making Collection Calls at Work
I did not realize when I made last month's payment that it was not the minimum payment. My minimum payment is $74 and I paid $50. I have had this card (Dillard's) since 2000 and this is the first time I have ever short paid it. I got a call and told them I would make a payment and not to call me. They called today at work and I did not realize that they even had my work number. I think it should be against the law to call at work and we are only talking $20 short paid and the first time ever I did this. I am paying it off in full today and I will never use a card backed by GE nor will I ever buy a GE applicance.

Rude Reps and Liars
I have an account with GE Money with a limit of $5500. The account was opened last year when my daughter had oral surgery and our insurance did not cover all the charges. I have more than $5400 available for use and therefore I owe less than $100. The payment was due on 8/15/09. When I went on line to make the payment that day at 6:15 am, there was already a late fee attached to the account even though the payment was NOT late. I made the payment and got an email confirmation.

Immediately I called GE customer service to ask why a late fee was attached to the account even though I have never EVER made a late payment and the payment was NOT late this time. The Rep Frank assured me the late charge will be taken off as I made the payment on the due date. I looked at the account on 9/11 (almost a month after) to make my final payment due 9/15/09, only to find the late charge from last month still there.

I called customer service again and explained to the Rep the erroneous late fee of last month and request it be taken off. She immediately went into "bad attitude" with me. "Ma'am", she said, "I will remove it as a one time goodwill offer". I stopped her. I asked "What do you mean a goodwill offer. You add a late fee to my account which is incorrect. You are not doing me a favor by removing it. You have to remove it."

That was when her rage really came to the forefront. She told me that even if I did pay on the due date, I should have paid BEFORE, so the late charge is valid. I couldn't believe that customer service was so dead at GE Money, that it was permissable for their Reps to rage at customers. I asked to speak to a supervisor. His name was Steven. I related my experience to him and asked him about their late charge process. He had the good grace to say it was an error and it was removed from my account.

I logged on to my account today 9/13/09, only to find the charge still there. Now this is $29.00, and while it is not a large amount of money, it is the principle behind it. If I have to take this all the way to small claims court to have it removed, I will.

Customer Service is dead and buried at GE MONEY. What a shame.

I was approved for a no payment and interest for one year account when purchasing my Select Comfort Bed. I did pay the account in full and on time. GE Money closed the account with zero balance . I believe I am on their black list for taking advantage of their offer. When I attempt to call them, they literally hang up on me. Once I finally got thru to them on a different phone number. I wanted to make another large purchase, they said NO without checking any of my credit credentials, etc. I have been black listed for utilizing their offer!

harrassing calls
My husband was laid off June 15th due to cut backs. We immediatly sent out a letter to inform our creditors of what was happening. After a week had passed and we still had not recieved unemployment, fell behind on our house payment as well as every payment we sent out another letter explaining that our situation was still the same. The next week I called the creditors to talk to them. GE is the most difficult to get through to speak to a rep. I ended up having to call 7 times now asking them to stop the harrassing calls as now we are unablle to even eat. Out of 5 credit card companies GE is the only one that has made our situation even that much more stressfu;. 2 letters and 7 calls apparently is not enough to tell them we have full intent of taking care of this debt when we are able. Yesterday when I made the 7th call I asked to please stop the 8x a day phone calls and was told they would stop. At 6:00 a.m. this morning they began again.
It is beyond me how this credit card company has continually made mistakes on our billing, never once admitting to a mistake because you can't talk to a rep. But then to be going through the hardest times in our life, losing everything and trying to make sure that our creditosr know we have full intention of paying our deb onlyt to be harrassed so often daily is sad to me that they have zero empathy for our situation.
Stay away fro GE money. They are one big headache and care nothing about the consumer. They should have gone down with WallStreet! And perhaps their greed and lack of customer service will one day be their down fall.
