oven stopped heating
We had a complete home redo, The contractor walked out after getting all of the money. He left our kitchen completely in a mess, we had purchased a GE profile microwave oven which we had not been able to use. We finally had the work completed and started using the Profile microwave, in less than 6 months and about 4 uses the profile oven stopped heating. I called GE and found out that the part had a five year warrenty, so I set up an appointment with GE only to find out that I must pay $176.71 to get it fixed. This is terrible that GE would pick on the very people who purchase their product. I like so many others have vowed that I will never purchase another GE product. This story has aired on the news channel at least 3 times before we had the work completed. It is as if GE dosen't believe that we just started useing the oven.

SCAM; Poor Quality for price
MICROWAVE GE PROFILE - Magnetron fails after 4 years. We call customer service - they tell us it will cost $80 to fix. Repair man comes- charges min $80 +tax to just step in the door +$190 to replace the part- magnetron in our stainless GE Profile +TAX - don't forget, total - almost $300 to fix, when brand new costs $600. I am outraged. It's a SCAM!!! I ended up paying the repair guy his HOME CALL price - $90 so he would leave. We'll order the part online for $80 + and replace it ourselves. For you who are reading and want to replace the magnetron in your microwave, be careful not to get shocked by 2000 volts. make sure you read info on how to discharge the voltage.
I WILL NOT BUY GE EVER AGAIN.
DO NOT BUY GE PRODUCTS!
I believe the customer service should tell people it will cost $80 for service man to come and MORE MONEY to fix whatever is broken. Now I know - learned the hard way!!

Terrible service!
I purchased 2 kitchens worth of GE appliances (for us and my daughter) as well as the extended contracts. I am having a problem with one the EXPENSIVE GE profile microwave at my daughter's. I called for an appointment for service and the day before the service tech was to arrive - (I had to take off from work to fit their schedule) he called to asked about the problem When I told him the door did not open the way it was supposed to Mr. Know It All said he never heard of such a thing... guess what, neither did I but then I am not a service tech. He said he had to order a new door and when it came to call for an appt. The story goes on and on... I was so annoyed with him that I called customer service and was given another BS story.
