service
after reading the other complaints (which i should have read before i paid for geek squad service), i am amazed that their customer service is so horrible. my computer was taking forever to start up & shut down and the first person who came here appeared to have helped me. then i went to put my compact card reader in the usb port (a day later), and nothing happened. i called geek squad to find out what happened and they said i would need another appt (4 hour window) but there were none available for about 5 days. last wednesday, i sat home from 4pm until 7:30 pm when a dispatcher (not even the person who was supposed to come here) said he was running late and that i would have to reschedule because he doesn't work after 8pm, but there no appts again for another 5 days. i went to best buy (where i had paid $189 for the service) and they said there's nothing they could do. i finally had someone here today (yes, on a beautiful saturday afternoon) and after an hour or so, he said he couldn't fix the problem...all i needed was for a program to be reenabled. bottom line, i cancelled the charge on my cc, had a friend come over and restore it back to an earlier date...why didn't the geek do that???
THEY SUCK!!!
just go to craigslist and find a computer techie who's in college (at least they could use the money.)

computer repair
I took my computer to the Geek Squad at Best Buy hoping for a good experience. Truth is...it was awful! The "agents" have NO customer service skills, very little computer skills, could not tell me what they had actually done to my computer, could not tell me when it would be ready, and could not answer the most basic computer questions. I was told my computer would take five days to repair and now four weeks later I still do not have my computer back! The worst part, I was asked to pay upfront for "diagnostic and repair." Problem is, no repairs have actually been made, they are trying to charge me even more money (on top of the $215 I've already paid) and they did not actually repair anything. Geek Squad is awful. Do not take your computer repair to Geek Squad.

Ripoffs!
I have been waiting for over 2 weeks for them to do a house call after spending unlimited time on hold
giving them my confirmation number, name, phone, email address, all things that are required
due to security purposes??? The guy shows up this morning and after spending $266.43 the computer is the same. I then called them back and went through the same old story on the phone and they are going to call me back... their central office is in Atlanta I called them and was on the phone for over 42 minutes. Funny that they are supposedly computer geeks, but they don't have an email to contact them or complain about their services.

Poor service!
Had a terrible experience with Geek Squad. The first time the tech was 45 minutes late and offered no apology. He was very unfriendly and not helpful. He said he would need to come back to fix additional problems on one of my computers but I had to call to schedule another appointment. When he came back the second time (on a Sunday afternoon) he was over 1 hour late and again did not care. He was going to charge me over $300 when last time he said it would be half that amount. I called the manager and he did not offer my any help either so I asked the tech to leave. I was not about to give them any more business. Bad experience overall and very disappointing.

Geek Squad - is a total rip off!
I scheduled a Geek Squad appointment just after Christmas to set up my wireless internet connection on my Macintosh. I waited 2 weeks for appointment.

When the day finally came my Geek Special Agent was an hour late. We were already off to a bad start as I left work an hour early to accommodate the appt.

The Special Agent spent a total of 15 minutes making the connection as I had already set up the Airport with Apple over the phone. I was charged $169. plus tax and he was on his way. The connection worked for about an hour until the computer went to sleep and I found out he hadn't locked the settings and hadn't changed the sleep mode. Since i was was not privy to his geek magic, I did not know the IP addy he used to set up the wireless on my Airport Extreme. I immediately called Geek Squad back and I was told I would receive a call to reset things. When this did not happen i called the next morning and made 2 subsequent calls until I was given appt that day at 2:40 PM. Well, the Geek never showed up. when I called back at 5PM to find out what happened, I was told the appt wasn't on record and that they would text the Geek to call me immediately. Ten days and many phone call later, I am still waiting. The Geek Squad people tell me they are only a franchise and can't help me. Best Buy, who holds the franchise, ignores my calls. I have put the payment in dispute with my credit card company and I am hiring a reputable tech company to correct the problem. The Geek Squad guarantees their work for 30 days. I am betting they are waiting for the guarantee to run out!

Meanwhile, no wireless!
