Double insuring
Geico insurance double insured my son in-laws car, we have found out from the DMV in N. Carolina, My son in law and daughter had insurance coverage on the Bronco and My son also had insurance on same car so he was covered. Geico was told that the car already had insurance for son in law, but still sold my son insurance. The DMV in N. Carolina has threatened to confiscate the car and charge penalties. During the time that we were trying to figure out this mess my son was 1 day late on his monthly payment I was told that I would have to start all over on payments. They had already taken over $900.00 I am wondering if there is any recourse for this mess or anyway to get the DMV off of my son in laws & Daughters back?

Fraud
On November 17th my son had an accident in my car and I filed a clain with GEICO. 3-days after filing the claim I was told that my son was an excluded driver. I informed them that I was not aware that I had signed anything to exclude my son from driving my car but they insisted that I did. I asked for a copy of the exclusion form and was told that they would fax or send it to me by mail. I got the form and the form was a copy of a copy. It was not the original form and it appear to have been doctored. A form that was scanned into the system upon receipt 2 years ago would not look like the form I received. I contacted GEICO to see how I could view the original document that I signed and was told that the document was scanned into the system and shredded upon receipt. I asked then why could they not have sent me the an email of the scanned document and they could not answer that.
GEICO denied my claim because they said that my son was an excluded driver and I have yet to see the original documentation excluding him from my policy. Until I filed the claim report I never saw documentation that there was excluded drivers on my policy. Once I filed the complaint, 3 days later there was a notation on the policy that stated "this policy has excluded drivers".
Needless to say that GEICO did not honor my claim and becuase of this I am in such a situation.
system will not allow me to download form.

Terrible experience
I'd like to give consumers to beware of Geico's business practices when it comes to renewal of policy.
I was insured with Geico for 11 years, I kept renewing my policy year after year like I was on auto pilot. I knew there were better deals out there everyone I knew told me so but out of loyalty or laziness I just kept renewing.
However, I noticed that despite my great driving record my premiums were not budging. When I told them I was going to cancel the customer representative told me I had to renew, because if there was a lapse in coverage I would be fined by my new insurer. This information is actually half correct, but she was trying very hard to keep my account through 'threats' not 'service.'
Consumers be advised that there are some states that will fine you if there is a lapse of insurance, however, each state has different laws regarding lapse of insurance. Secondly, there needs to be a huge gap such as 30 days or more for you to incur a fine. Do not let any insurance company or agent scare you into paying their high premiums. You have a right to shop around and find the best deal for yourself. This is a pure business decision.
This is exactly what I did. However, 3 months later I got a note from DMV telling me that I had incurred a fine for not being insured. It seems not only does Geico threaten customers into staying with them they also notified the DMV that I had a lapse of insurance because I was not insured with them anymore.
For those that are in the process of looking at insurance companies believe me you don't want a company like this to cover you. They're in the business of making money, whatever way they can. Instead of gaining loyalty through service they'd rather blackmail and threaten their customers into loyalty.

GEICO is only about $$$ for GEICO
GEICO spends from $500 to $600 MILLION dollars a year in advertising and makes approximately $9 BILLION dollars in annual revenue. Yet they are refusing to cover a claim for an accident that my daugther was involved in last week. I have been a GEICO customer for nearly 10 years and have never once filed a claim until now. And now that I need GEICO they are telling me that I may not have had coverage at the time of the accident.
GEICO is owned by Berkshire Hathaway in which Warren Buffet is the chairman. He is a smart investor and business man and even more importantly, a philanthropist. Philanthropy encompasses any activity intended to promote good or improve human quality of life. Warren Buffet has been generous in his philanthropic activities but this virtous trait is NOT reflected at GEICO.
I am a single, working mother who has a brilliant 16 year old daughter (straight A student). My husband died in a car accident 9 years ago. So imagine how terrifying that phone call from my daughter was when she was in an accident last week. Fortunately and by the grace of God, my daughter was not physically hurt. But now that GEICO is refusing to cover the accident me and Jessica are both hurting. Having a car to get around is CRITICAL when you live on the outskirts of the DC/VA/MD Metro area.
In this economy everyone is struggling to simply stay afloat. I cannot afford to have the car fixed on my own. That is why I have insurance. But my insurance company is refusing to help me. What can I do?

Road Service
This very poor road service really is funny.
I left Stuart, Fl and traveled north on the FL Turnpike. After an hour of driving at 70 MPH one of my tires blew out.
It was raining so I call Geico to have someone change my tire. The agent said she was from Macolm Ga. The dialogue was like this:
1. I gave my insurance number and asked for road service.
2. She confirmed my coverage and asked what area code I was in.
3. NOW HOW WOULD I KNOW THE AREA CODE ?????????
4. I mentioned I had been driving north from Stuart, Fl at about 70 miles per hour. I therefor was about 80 miles north of Stuart, FL.
5. She insisted on knowing my area code. ??????????
6. She then asked if I could see any road signs or bridges ??
7. I peered forward thru the rain and could barely see a sign on the overpass and what the sign said.??????
9. Through the rain I barely could make out CLEAR...
10. She had no luck and asked for more info.
11. I could barely see ING. she asked for more info.
12. I opened the window and barely saw 16 ft.
It was then I realized what the sign said.
CLEARING 16 FEET
I had to laugh. The operator said she would look for a town called clearing 16 feet. no luck.
13. She then asked me to stop traffic and ask about the area code. Now I doubt that anyone driving on the Fl Turnpike would know the area code,
She said she would call back and I did not hear from her until 2:30 pm. By then My tire had been changed and I was in Orlando.
I wrote a letter to Geico Headquarters and never received a response.
This is one for the books. Has anyone received this kind of service????

Innocent bystander car
Does anyone know how to reach him. He’s the CEO For Geico and I’d really like to have a word with him. The company stinks waiting months to be paid for a claim. Was not even involved in an accident. Parts from a vehicle insured by them flew off during an accident they were in and damaged our parked car. Three messed up checks later and months into it and we still have nothing to repair the car with. Unless they think bogus excuses on the employees part and the Oh! so sorry apology we keep getting over and over again will somehow repair the car. So sick of this and all they have to say is “It’s in the mail” Until the next week when amazingly someone else has messed it up, gone on vacation or just didn’t come into work so it got put by the way side and forgotten. Is this how this company is run? If anyone else knows where I can post this to get my point across I’d appreciate the info. Next is the BBB. Not that that will do any good but I’m going to put it where anyone and everyone can read just how they treat innocent bystanders. I can just imagine how they handle the poor souls who actually pay to have insurance through them and do have the misfortune of having an accident where they are at fault. BUYERS BEWARE!!!

Terrible service!
WARNING! DO NOT INSURE WITH GEICO! I have been insured with GIECO since 1999. During that time, I have paid thousands of dollars to them, and they have never had to pay on a claim. In November, I was married, and chose to place my husband on my policy. Because he was ticketed for driving uninsured in 2005 (he did not realize the policy had lapsed), we had to have SR-22 (He was not in an accident - he simply received a ticket). The underwriting company carefully checked our driving history (they have to do this with any SR-22 policy) and after seeing our driving record felt there was no risk, and in turn offered us a policy. I paid the premium (over $900).
In December, my husband accidentally backed into my car while it was parked in the driveway. We had the car inspected, but chose not to file a claim with GEICO, and instead chose to pay for the repairs out of pocket. Long story short, we are set to renew in May, and I just received a letter stating that they cannot reinsure me.
I have been with this company for 9 years, AND THEY HAVE NEVER HAD TO PAY OUT ONE DIME FOR ANYTHING!
Here is the problem I have. The underwriters had no problem taking my $900 in November, but now after one accident (in which they did not even have to pay), they have opted to drop a loyal customer of 9 years. I feel that it is important to let my friends and family know that this company is not what they make themselves out to be. You guys know me, and you know that I am an honest person. I will be insuring with the company I was with prior to GEICO, but I do not want my friends to be a victim of this company as I have been. If you are with GEICO, remember that one accident is all it takes for them to drop you... no matter how loyal you have been!

Scam and cheating!
I have had geico for quite some time. Recently I received a cancellation notice. Said payment due on Nov 19. I called in and had my employer call stating I could not make a payment until the 29th at the latest. The representative said that would be fine the policy would not cancel they would extend it. The night before Thanksgiving we were traveling to Dallas and hit a wild bore which tore up the front of our vehicle. I contacted Geico and they said my policy was cancelled due to non payment. I told them I had called in and explained about the payment. They basically called me and my employer liars. This company is nothing but about the bottom line.
Buyer beware!!!
