Scammed
My husband was scammed today in the K-Mart parking lot by a young man who was happened to have an extra Home Thearter system that he was selling for cheap because the client he was installing for decided he only needed 3 not 4. My husband was with our 3 year old daughter when this man approached him telling him he would sell it for cheap so he could stay in the area a little longer before heading back to Federal Way, WA. We are in Spokane, WA. he was driving a white van and had plenty of paperwork to show to my husband that made it all look so dang legitmate. My husband explained to this man that we are having a hard time financially right now and really couldn't afford to purchase it. I am not sure what exactly this man said to convince my husband to spend the last little bit of money we had but he did. My husbands intentions were to flip it and we make a profit out of it. Imagine our surprise when we investigage the product and find out it is not worth S**T!!! Needless to say we are not happy people right now and want to go ride around until we find this jerk and get our money back. He only got us for a little under $200 but when it is the last of your money it might as well be a million. Somehow this jerks have to be stopped!!!

Fraud and cheating
Ok I wasn't buying it but after speaking with the police, some folks in my town are getting taken. We were approached as we walked out of a sporting goods store in the typical White Van Scam you will see on the internet, same story too. They claim to be 'installers' with an extra sound system that they cant bring back to their boss, I call BS right away. They claim to be from Seattle and can't run their audio package home so they want to sell the $4000 system for $600. These guys looked meth'd out, sniffing and talking fast, as I wondered why a guy claiming to be from Seattle had California plates, which I memorized and gave to the police.
This is not a good deal, they are preying on honest folks for their hard earned money. Stay far away from these kind of deals, these guys are fakes and liars.

Fraud and cheating
Two guys pull up next to me asking if i wanted a surround sound system. Thinking they were free, i pull over and before i know it im 'negotiating' a deal. Lucky for me (in this case anyways) i was recently laid off my job and had about $120 on me. The guy wanted it all and was really pushy into getting me to an ATM, but i had no account. I was reluctant to hand over the full $120 seeing i had no income.
I negotiate them for $80 dollars and thought to myself 'wow my luck, i might be able to flip this into real profit'. After doing some research i realized that i had been scammed, but was some sort relieved that it was only $80. It could have been way worse. The speakers stood around my house for a while until i had a yard sale and sold them for $50, the most i think they are actually worth! Yeah they got me for $30, but hey, small price to pay for a scam thats gotten people for much more $! If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

Fraud and cheating
A guy with red hair and a red beard in a white van shouted over to me and my friend in aztec highway parking lot in salt lake city, utah and said 'this might sound a little weird but do you guys want to buy some speakers?'.
At first we thought he just wanted to give them to us. But then he said they are a home theater system with a msrp of $1999, and he had a magazine with the exact upc# and picture and everything. He had about 5 of these in his car and that he got one in an error so he was really in need to get rid of it. He said he was really in the need for cash and that he was ready to take best offer. i told him $50 and thats all i had. He asked if I could do 200$ or something. He said he would take a check, cash or anything and asked if I had a debit card I could pull like another $100 out or something. I actually had $100 dollars on my unemployment card so he followed me to the bank where I pulled the money out and asked to see them again.
Even though I never heard of the brand name, they looked really legit, Still had the production tape on them and everything. I had him open them up and they looked good so he helped put them in the back of our car and I gave him my 150$.
He said if he ever sees me around like at the steve miller race track (here in tooele where I live) that i owe him a beer or something. I went to their website (www.genesismedialabs.com) and even that looks legit, but come to find out it's not.
Everyone beware of this scam!

Terrible experience
My boyfriend was going to his college, Cy-Fair, now called Lone Star, in Katy, Tx, and was approached by someone selling the speakers in the parking lot. The guy asked my boyfriend for $300 initially, and my boyfriend declined. When my boyfriend began to get into his car to leave, the guy lowered the price to $180, which my boyfriend obliged to.
Upon getting home, however, and looking up the brand online, we found that it's a scam when my boyfriend tried to post the system on CraigsList. The purchased item is a 'G-506 Digital Series' Home Theater System. The box looks like something you would get from Best Buy and the MSRP says $3, 999. My boyfriend had purchased it with an intent to just resell it online, but now we have this product sitting around and cannot get rid of it, because all in all, it's a scam.
The license plate on the tan Tahoe was: ostm57 or o5tm57. The letters and numbers became a little smudged.

Fraudsters and cheaters
Hahaha it all happened outside a Washington Mutual bank on the corner of Washington BLVD. and Passons in Whittier, CA. My friend and I had just finished depositing money into our accounts!!! So ironic :) They caught us heading back to the car in the parking lot. It was a black, 2000-ish Chevy Tahoe on 22' chrome rims. Two white guys; one tall, pale, had a slight gut, 6'2''?? had an Austrian accent, the other dude was short and looked/sounded just like John Leguizamo haha Dam sneaky ass Europeans AND sOUTH aMERICANS!!
My friend and I split the $200 for the 'better' model stashed in the back of the Tahoe. Aww man it's so funny now thinking how much I planned to flip the system and make a quick 2, maybe 3 hundred bucks. Well you live and you learn. Pretty ingenious hustle though, I have to admit. They have outstanding packaging, although now, obviously only now not when I was coughing up the $200 bucks, I realize how strange it is that the $4995.00 price & bar code is located on each corner of the box. Why would you have it on every corner if not to guarantee the victim notices it clearly. Man-o-man. They even have a website set up. It looks so well crafted. The layout seems well thought out hahaha SNEAKY B*ST*RDS!!!
