more charges
I am a business owner and have Ga power. since 2002, I would like to add also that they are the only electricity provider in our area.We are located in the nations top areas for unemployment and this has taken a toll on everyones business so with that being said we have on occasion paid our bills after the due date. Well we paid our October bill after the due date and just received our November statement that was double and when we called to inquire they informed us that because of the late payments they decided to charge us another deposit to the tune of $600.00 our electric bill averages between $250.00 and $400.00 depending on the weather. I can only assume that it is time for Christmas bonuses and there has to be some way to achieve this. WE have always paid any late fees and never had our service interrupted . I feel that it is a shame that our power companies have this much leverage on us . What can you do ? I have tried to adjust my business to help when I could not kick them again when there down. With a already struggling business and an economy that is far from recovered I hope that some of us survive but if we don't then I guess they won't benefit either . So good luck to all self employed people out there .I am not the only one this has happened to . I can only hope that they state their case as well.

Smart Meter
We recently were "upgraded" to the new smart meter. The first bill we received was about thirty-five dollars above average. I thought this might be an anomaly. I decided to go easy on the air conditioning. Then Georgia experienced horrific flooding. My bill then jumped to $290 for one month!! My bill used to average $160 or so dollars. Let me explain, my bill was $160 with my thermostat set at 65 degrees and on 24 hours a day! Now my bill is $290 dollars with my thermostat set to 78 degrees. Seems very peculiar and down right crooked. Now I have completely turned my thermostat off. I do not even plan on using the heat in the winter, for fear of another "dumb meter" inflated bill. Power consumers beware, they are out to rob us!!!

electric service
I was living in a house with my 10 year old daughter. I was planning on moving out but has until the end of August. The landlord asked if he rented the house could I move out early. I said may be. Well he rents the house the next day and wanted me to move in 1 day, I told him it was possible for me to be out in 1 day, I would need at least a week. He said well I have already changed the Georgia Power (electricity into the new tenants name) I called Georgia power and they did change it. I was still living in this house. THis is not right just to transfer the electricity into some one elses name without me doing this or authorizing it.

Cell Phone Programmed Calls
I have been receiveng automated programmed calls from multiple numbers at Georgia Power that sometime occur every hour 20 times per day. It has been going on for over 8-months. I contacted the company but they said it wasn't their fault.
