Gerry's wife, girlfriend whatever she is, put an ad on Kijiji.ca selling a used VCR. I arrange to pick it up after she dropped it off at her friend's house nearby & within a week or so of using it, the tape got stuck in the VCR. No matter what I did, it wouldn't come out.
I e-mail Gerry, he ignores me.
I call & the lady starts giving me attitude blaming me or insinuating I''m lying. "Oh it was working before." NO VCR breaks down within a week if it was working before. I told her I wanted my money back or for her to fix it & she scoffed at me. She also said she won't be at her friend's house again for a couple of weeks. I said you can e-mail the money to me, she refused.
After saying she was committing fraud (I should have said she was ripping me off instead as using fraud, as it was too strong a word), I finally told her I would be telling everyone what she did & I hung up on her.
While it wasn't a lot of money, for me every penny counts & I spent time talking to Gerry on the phone, calling another time, picking it up in the freezing cold with snow all over the place, spent time setting it up, the time troubleshooting the bloody thing, not to mention I lost a perfectly good tape.
Beware of people ripping you off on Kijiji.ca Not all are like that, but this is the 2nd VCR in a matter of months that didn't work. At least the other guy returned my money, unlike this unethical person.
And I just bought the replacement 2 days ago d& set it up tonight & it dosen't have the flip cover where the tape goes in, but hopefully it will work much longer than a week. I couldn't check out this guy's VCR b/c it was the day of the storm & I couldn't trek in the snow to his house.
