Poor service and Decetful and Unfair Advertising practices
I recently experienced problems with the company Newegg. I purchased a computer for 945.00 with the understanding that I would receive a 100.00 gift card for a purchase of 500.00. I made my purchase after speaking with the first representative that I called to inquire about the computer. On several occasions he incorrectly quoted information about the computer and warranty information and needed to be corrected based on the information I read on the website. I made my purchase within the time advertised in order to receive my gift card. I called back the next day to inquire why my purchase was taking so long to process. The delivery time was quoted as 2-3days and I paid for shipping. I also inquired about the gift card and was informed that I did not make the purchase in time - even when I received a confirmation letter explaining that the purchase was made well before the deadline. After going rounds with the supervisor, who changed her story several times after I quoted information that I had printed out (terms and conditions) she confessed that they ran out of funds and declined any further gift cards. Mind you - there was not notice or statement printed on the banner stating they were not going to honor them - just the advertisement that they were available. I have a copy of that as well. However, she was more then willing to give me a 25.00 gift certificate instead of the 100.00 as advertised. In the conversation she quoted herself as saying the 25.00 gift certificate was good for 1 year but then at the end of the conversation said it was only good for 90 days. I took the card and stupidly expected the purchase to be completed and to receive my computer in the 2-3 day period as advertised. On the next day I called again to ask the representative why my purchase process has not changed. He said it was due to the fact that my mailing address and shipping address were different and if I could confirm the shipping address so they could proceed processing the purchase. I confirmed the shp address and he said everything was good to go and the order would process. Next day same story - no processing had continued and I called again. The next representative informed me that I needed to call my credit card to inform them of the shipping address. When I asked why I was not informed of this when I spoke to the supervisor and representative the previous she had no answer. Nor was I informed through email until later in the day. I told her that I would call my credit card company and she said she would expedite the process. I checked my account later in the day and noticed nothing had changed. I called the representative again and he said they were still processing and I would receive an email confirmation within 4 hours. No email came and I called the next day and spoke with yet another representative - she informed of the same old story and that I needed to call my credit card company. I told her that I had contacted the credit card company the day before and that was already rectified with yesterday's representative she had no answers. I canceled my order on the spot. This company uses false promises and poor customer service - spend a few extra dollars if you want a company that provides good, trustworthy service.
