I started using this service to receive calls from my son from Theo Lacy jail on June 3th of this year. Since ATT.NET automatically blocks your phone calls via collect, I opted to use my credit card to receive his calls. Unfortunately, I granted the $ 25.00 dollars on the 30th. THEN on July 1st, I received a call from Global Tel Link telling me I was receiving a call from my son. I waited to hear his voice because I knew I still had $ 14.00 dollars left of credit. But when I was waiting to hear my son's voice, the operator from Global Link comes back on asking me to put an additional $ 25.00 dollars on my account to continue receiving my son's calls! I did not want to put more $ out, I knew I still had a balance, but I did it anyway so I could talk to him since it was a very important message I needed to tell him. BUT after I put the additional monies on the line, It said: Thank-you!! You now have $ 39.00 credit and HUNG-UP!! I ever spoke to my son, I couldn't belive what had just happened so I calmed dwon and called the operator @ Global Tel Link. She stated & I quote: "Sometimes you will receive calls as a courtesy to you if you have someone in jail and you account is low, you will receive and automatic call to ask you to put more money on youe account, but you won't be receiving an actual call from your family member!!! When was someone going to tell me this??? And why would I need more monies on my acct. He would be getting out soon, I only needed to speak to him this last time!! This company is totally ripping peopl off where they know they can: Talking to your loved ones behind bars and this is the only way you can do it!! I asked for my refund and it's already OVER THE 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS!!!
