Global Connections sent me a coupon saying that I had won "two roundtrip airfares to a major international airport of your choice within the continental US". I called the number that they included for details and they told me all that my wife and I had to do was attend a 90 minute presentation about their "travel club". This was a high pressure presentation to sell a membership to thier travel club. My wife and I resisted and were "awarded" the opportunity to redeem our free airfare and two night stay in a hotel and a one week rental of an auto to complete our "vacation extravaganza" through their partner, Worldwide Travel Center.
I checked the Complaints Board to see if there were any complaints listed for Worldwide Travel Center. One can see that this company is charging $175 reservation fee for their service, that is only refunded after the "free vacation" is redeemed. Their policy is to receive all payments for reservations by money orders and then make redeeming the vacation almost impossible to book. All correspondence must be by mail or calling into India for assistance. Save your money.
My complaint is that Global Connections is well aware of their "award partner" and is misrepresenting their offer for a "free vacation". A call to their Member Services Department in Overland Park, Kansas to ask for a different travel agency to book my free vacation was not fruitful. Global Connections is hiding behind this other company as not fulfilling the obligation that Global Connections promised.
