Many of the complaints I have read on here are pretty much on the money with what we experienced with the Global Vacation Network. It is a well orchestrated sales system that actually had us buying the basic product. To the local office and staff's credit, when we changed our minds and came in the next day to undo the deal, they seemed polite but indifferent. Our deal was undone and we took our "free airline tickets" voucher and started the process of redeeming them. This is the part of the sales pitch that is the hassle. Between sending in the vouchers, waiting for a response, reading all the fine print with the "additional fees you will need to pay", then waiting some more, then sending MONEY for the "free tickets or hotel rooms" it became a waste of time. We have now just given up, saved our deposit money and written the whole experience off. I do not recommend the experience to anyone who is on a budget, and thinks this vacation club with all its restrictions, deposits, and limited locations will be a great deal. It may be for people who have already been in timeshares, still have money, and are willing to alter their vacations to meet the guidelines of this club. Don't expect ANYTHING for free. You will find as the old adage says, "nothing is free".

Received postcard in mail from Gobal Vacation Networks concerning a presentation and free 5 day Bahamas cruise - no obligation. No mention of any fees made on the card or when the reservation for the "seminar" was made on the phone. Said "what the heck" and proceeded. The presentation took about 1 1/2 hour of so-called "cheapie" rates for hotels, cruises, airfares but no specifics. Global Vacation Networks wanted about $7500 as membership fee - pone-time offer. Otherwise fee would be about $10000. No more specifics were discussed. We said "No" and got up to leave when they sent another guy named Sean who tried to pressure us into buying. He would not takle "No" for an answer and we again got up to leave and he wouldn't stop his pitch. We were almost afraid that he would physically try to restrain us but he fortunately did not do so as the scene would have gotten very ugly and more confrontive than it was. As we left they gave us this voucher to sign and send in. It would have amounted to a $600 fee paid in advance (not free) for an undisclosed Carnival 5 day Bahamas area trip. We can get the same from our travel agent so we did not send it in.

Essentially a bait-and-switch and a most unpleasant one at that.

We received an ad in the mail to go to their office for a seminar and receive a free vacation, and additional free airline tickets. I called the number on the ad and asked the person why they were doing this (I was not born yesterday), and I was told that this was to introduce my wife and I to their agency, and hopefully in the future we would book our travel with them. What we got turned out to be a time-share type sales pitch for "cheap" hotel/resort stays. When we asked to see their list of places where they had facilities we were told there were too many locations to tell us where they all were. When we finally said we were not interested in signing a contract with them (how can you sign a contract without knowing any of the "fine print" which they refused to reveal to us) the sales person got frustrated and called over his manager (the same person who gave the seminar). The manager got very angry and tried to coerce us into buying a "package" from him. Finally he gave up and gave us a "voucher" for our free trip. We sent this in and received two more vouchers. To make our "reservations" we were supposed to pay "refundable" deposits of $150, and all taxes and fees which we were never told about before we agreed to go to the seminar. At that point we cut our losses and stopped communication with them.
