Up and Left
Just found out that their new business address is 475 Activa AVe. We want to get our pictures from this guy since April. Can't get hold of him, tried everything to find out where he is. They are now located in Kitchener, they are working out of their home at
475 Activa Ave. Unbelievable these people should just stop while they are ahead. Hope to get my pictures very soon, i will have to go
there and bang on their door.

Philomena
I was warned by my wedding decorator that she had brides that had problems with Global Weddings in the past but I thought since I was only ordering my bonbonnieres from them what could possibly go wrong? Well, where do I begin?
On November 29th, 2009 I ordered 75 gravy bowls and put down a $260.00 deposit on my $466.12 bill. I was told by Philomena (sp) that they would not be arriving until January. At the end of January 2009 I called and was told that the container coming from the US was not full so they cannot bring it over, I will be receiving them in the first week to mid February 2009. Again, I called in the first week of March and was told that they still have not arrived but they should be arriving shortly. Well as I was planning a wedding, held a full time job and have a 5 year old I kind of forgot about it for a while. When I finally got a chance to call the first week in June I was told they would be ready the next week for pick up. I find it terrible that at no time did anyone call me to tell me about any of these delays in my shipment or even that they had arrived; I had to call them numerous times. If I was told in February that they would not be arriving until June I would have cancelled my order and went with another company, but I guess that is what they didn’t want to happen.
On June 25th along with my maid of honor I went to Global Weddings with a money order for the remaining amount of $206.13. While in the show room I seen a bouquet that I liked for my mini bride and some pearls that I liked for my mother. I went to Philomena and told her it was very inconvenient for me to be getting my gifts 38 days before my wedding when I had all my bridesmaids here to help me in April (my bridesmaids live in New York, Atlanta and Alberta) but no gifts so is there anything they could do for me. Well, the three women that were in the back room immediately went into defense mode and said there is nothing they could do “I should just feel lucky that I got them in the first place.” I did not appreciate this comment and told her so. I paid for a service that was promised to me by a certain date and that is what I expected to happen. Why should I feel lucky I got my gifts 38 days before my wedding with no bridesmaid to help me wrap and decorate 75 boxes.
Well you know it did not go well after that and the funny thing was I wasn’t even being rude to these ladies. That is when this older man (which I am now told is the owner) comes in the back and starts putting in his two cents. While cussing at me he said things like "He doesn't give a shit", “people only act like this when they want something”, “if you want milk from the cow you have to be nice to it to get the milk”, he should “he is going to kick me out the store and call the police” and the best one “I am acting like a bitch”. I said to him “Is that how you speak to your customers?” “Is that how you speak to a lady?” and he said “Yes”. I was so done with these people after that because if I stayed and argued some more I was going to get myself into trouble. At no time during these SIX MONTHS or even that day did anyone apologize for the delay but now this man had the audacity to tell me I’m acting like a bitch.
Well after all that he loaded my bonbonnieres into my truck but while doing so dropped two and broke them. He then went inside came back out and said here are two new ones and I am throwing in a third one for free. I even said thank you but contrary to what he might have thought, I am not an idiot so I checked the three boxes he gave me and low and behold this fool was trying to give me one of the ones he broke for “free”. My maid of honor took it back in the store and told him he could keep his “free” gift. When I went home and went through all 75 boxes I found 6 were broken.
Anyway, I tell you this story so that you can make an informed decision about dealing with the rude, inconsiderate and disrespectful people at Global Weddings and maybe pass it on to any future brides to save them the heartache I went through 1 month before my wedding. Global Weddings customer service skills was and forever will be deplorable and in a perfect world they would be one of the companies that this recession gets. They will not be missed.
