I purchased a 2006 Hummer H3 a month ago from Thorton Chevrolet. I test drove the vehicle and all systems go, but as I was being briefed on the elaborite luxury, and acessories the sales women forgot to tell me that the one head rest DVD player didn't function. Although, throughout her speel of options this vehicle was supposed to have she left that part out. But she did manage to tell me that they were an aftermarket install and weren't covered under the factory warranty. However, I was under the assumption that most sensable car buyers would expect the acessories to function properly beforehand or atleast have the issued disclosed before the sale. Unfortunately, this didn't occur and when I brought the vehicle home and tried the players out, one of them failed to operate and was very dissapointing due to the fact that I was going on vacation. I spoke to the dealership and the $%%^& who sold me the car kept throwing around the expired warranty coverage which I quickly denounced and reminded her that it is hard to imagine her dealership putting that vehicle into their inventory roster without having the vehicle serviced and looked over. She paused and proceeded to ramble on about the warranty coverage. I spoke to her GM and they directed me to take the vehicle to another Chevrolet dealership to have it looked and get an estimate. $100 later, and an $800 replacement screen . I notified them with the estimate and was assured someone would set an appointment up to have it fixed. Nothing happend, so I called Hummer, Chevrolet, and soon to be inquiring this with the B.B.B. In fact, she was so ignorant of her own salesmenship, when I mentioned that the $200 floormats were missing that come standard with the quote ...Luxury package she pitched to my wife and I also had little response. The bottom line is, people don't purchase something that doesn't work or for that matter pay extra for it! She woman and this dealership are not only cowardess in their approach to rectify this issue, but also filthy scoundrals trying to make a quick buck. american companys like GM and Chevy can't afford to have a less than average selling pratice or unethical approach service, yet they seem to aspire to such deplorable tactics just to sell a vehicle they were either too lazy or flat deceptive in selling. I posted this for a purpose. one to let other consumers be aware of this dealership and also to remind everyone of how pathetic American motor companies really are in ethics and salesmenship. I love my Hummer, but I will fervently turn anyone that I know who is deciding on an American car purchase such as a GM product or buying from that dispicable dealership to turn their attention to foreign car manufactures!
