Overdraw
Bought a different vehicle but still used GMAC. Dealership sent my payment electronically to pay off GM vehicle. GMAC still took money from my account for the car that was traded in and I still haven't gotten my money or any overdraft charges. Messed up my vacation and somehow it's my fault. Yea, my fault for buying GM and using their finance company. Should have known better but was trying to give an American company the benefit. Only benefit was they got my money and I need to fill in forms to request the return of my funds that they stole.

Waste of my time and money
My father and I purchased a car in July of 2006. I made payments on the car on time every month no questions. In December of 2007 I sent a check that was cashed my banked verified for me but according to GMAC, they never received payment. I continued to send in my checks while attempting to talk to someone that knew where my money was, considering myself and my bank sent them copies of the check with their endorsment, but every month GMAC considered me a month behind in payments and tacked on late fees each month. Finally in July of 2008 after demanding to talk to someone with an IQ, my check was found, it had never been applied to my account. Mind you this was only after sending them nearly $1800 in one check. Ok things were fine until I set $250 more than mypayments actually were. Problem two with this company. I wrecked the car in Febuary of 2009 and was out of work. I sent them some money each month but not the full amount which again late payments were tacked to my account again. Finally I got notice from them saying they were going to repo my car if payment in full was not received by noon that day, they called at 11:30! So I sent payment in the next day via moneygram in the amount of back and latepayments but not the repo fees. They sent the money back and took the car two weeks later! When I called and my father called we were givin the run around with no answers and now out of the blue a year later with no notice my fathers wages are being garnished for $12, 000 even though we settled on $5, 000 since we had so many issues. My lawyer is pleased to see a pay check coming his way. What a bunch of crooks! Run from GMAC no matter how good that 0% interest looks!

Do not buy from them
My husband leased a Chevy Malibu from GMAC. He lost a few days at his job and GMAC isnt willing to compromise. I called GMAC to see if they could drop the payment at least a $100 which is really nothing to them but alot to us. Basically they told me there is nothing to do which I know there must be other options. So basically I told them if you want to get paid monthly they would need to work with me. So apparently they werent so I advised them they wont be getting anything if I voluntarily give the car up. I advised the supervisor at the CS center I would never purchase another Chevy as long as I live he seemed to be ok with that. I wouldnt think that they would want a bad name but that is what there getting. DO NOT BUY FROM GMAC!!

Stay away!
they didn't send me a bill I did a extension so my payments were different than usual amount in Jan when didn't get bill didn't think anything of it then they called said I was late now they are harassing me and threatening to take my car. in these hard times you would think that they would be just a little lenient but no all they care about is getting money I work in a grocery store I'm not Rockefeller I offered to pay money each week but they said we cant do that ???Why not at least it shows I'm trying

Scam
I received a call telling me that my son was 2 months past due (i co-signed). My son said he tried over and over again for them to help him. He lost his job and found another but it was a big pay cut.

I called and was able to get his payments deferred. He made a payment. I received a call from a Ms.Nelly Roberts (needs attitude adjustment) said my sons check bounced and less i could give her a check that day for 3 months she was going to have the call repoed. My son informed me that his check cleared. I had him go to the bank and get a copy of the front and the back of the check. We called Ms Roberts left a message for her to call me back. To this day 3 weeks later she still has not called back. I was able to get a hold of another collection rep who informed me that they did receive tha payment and that it was a human error in posting. I think someone should have called even just to say hey sorry there was an error.

Terrible experience
After adding our young daughter to our car insurance policy, the rate was through the roof. We decided that we could no longer afford that kind of expense, so we decided to drop our daughter's coverage, so that she could find her own coverage. We were told by our carrier that if they drop her, she would have to turn her license in to them. So, we went shopping for less expensive coverage and found it to the tune of $150 less a month. We purchased it, and then notified our insurance carrier that we now wanted to cancel our policy with them. We were told that they had to have it in writing by a certain date in order to avoid a premium to be due that month. We followed this request, but, the premium was still automatically withdrawn from our account. In talking with the car insurance carrier, they said that there was till an amount owed towards our Premium. We were never told or is it in writing that when we cancel that they can still try and collect. The bank did reverse the charge, after taking in documents proving that we had sent our request in before the due date, like we were asked. Our carrier never mentioned to us in conversations that there might be additional charges. We are aware that the law states that we have to maintain financial responsibility continuously throughout our vehicles registration period. Which we did, we obtained car insurance coverage with another carrier before we canceled our policy. We have been with the previous carrier for years, never an incident or a claim, they have been gouging us with high premiums and want even more.
