Extra fees!
I signed a loan with GMAC. The contract stated that I will pay 60 monthly payments with a value of $623.86 each month. The payments started on December 1st, 2003 and lasts until November 1st, 2008. I called GMAC and asked them to send me a payoff statement. They told me I would receive one, although I did not. I wanted to pay off my loan early which was why I sent all the remaining payments that I owed GMAC on February 2008 and they did not completely credit my check. They previously charged me inaccurate charges which was the reason for me calling GMAC many times to understand the origin of these charges. However, nobody answered me or solved this problem. They also tell me every time that I will receive a letter. No one at GMAC gave me an answer.

Harassment at work!
Gmac called my employer about a loan problem. They left a number to call 1 800 551 5377 ext 73529. I called and talked to a lady who said there is no ext with that number... I gave her my name and she found the file but couldn't pull it up??? She wanted my ssn and wouldn't do anything without it.

Repossession, release of title!
In December 2007, I made a payment arrangement with GMAC on a past due balance but my car was repossessed two days before the agreed upon payment was due. I also experienced the long wait time when calling, the rude conversation from the phone representatives, and minimal information provided. I was told that the entire balance had to be paid in full in order for me to get the car back. I actually paid off the loan before the deadline date, but have still yet to receive my title. It has now been close to two months now with no lien release and no title. I have potential buyers of my car and desperately need the money. However, GMAC didn't hesitate to take my vehicle but are surely dragging their feet on releasing my title. I am sick and tired of getting the runaround and don't know who to contact now for better results.

Terrible experience!
GMAC MORTGAGE SUCKS!!! I had heard on the news and also in the news paper that GMAC was going to work with their customers to assist with their mortgage problems. THAT HAS NOT BEEN THE CASE. THEY HAVE LIED TO THE MEDIA !! They are no help at all. The first time I called, I got to their Loss Mitigation department, after going through 5 different people. I explained to this one individual in the Loss Mitigation department that my rate was going to adjust upward and that I would not be able to make payment. She took all of my personal information and said I was accepted as one to be helped. GMAC sent me a packet of paperwork for which I completed and sent back. I called to follow up with them and this time I got a person at GMAC by the name of Mark in the Loss Mitigation Dept who said I had been denied for help. How could that be when they didn't even receive my information. I was denied two weeks before they even received my information. I asked if their department received my information and whether it will be reviewed. He could not tell me whether my information had been received. All he could tell me was that I was denied. I told him that they were forcing people to walk away from their homes with their lack of concern. He told me that since I have continued to make my payments on time, they could not do anything for me. I told him that I did not want to get to where I was missing my payments but that was likely to happen. He then said that if I miss payments, I would automatically be denied. So since I haven't missed any payments, they won't help me; if I do miss payments, they won't help me. What kind of crap is this? GMAC proclaims that they are the leader in helping people with their mortgage problems but THAT IS A LIE. I plan to report them to KRON news and to ACORN - a national housing advocacy group. GMAC should not lie to the media and say that they are in the forefront to help people. They are only giving people the run around. Why is our government stepping in and helping these financial institutions. They should be helping us consumers stay in our homes. They get the money and give us the shaft. We should all band together and walk from our GMAC loans, if they continue to be play these game.

Repossession!
As another person stated in this blog-GMAC does not communicate with other depts. I was late 45 days on one of my lease account ( I have 2 with GMAC) and called customer service to get information regarding the account (status of payment sent) they told me that the accounts were up to date after I explained collections called me and that I had 2 accounts-gave the my ssn to look this up... they said accounts were fine, mentioned to them I sent a $900 check-payment. They repo'd my car!!! What a nightmare, rental charges, no car the day it was taken, missed work to get to the recovery shop because my pursue was in the car when it was towed-the rental-pick up the car from recovery (BEFORE 4pm)-drop off the rental, 60 days late on credit for repo, dealing with the idiots at 2 collection agencies (detroit and TX) waiting 2 weeks to get my car back, explaining this to my family and friends, stress (I have high-blood pressure ), treated like a common criminal by the recovery company and collection agencies. Wrote a letter to GMAC an exec customer person called me the 1st time, couldn't find the call to the customer service person that I made. I told her I'd send the stop payment check I mailed to them with date stamp... argued to high heaven... then 1 week later she called back. GMAC is in the wrong they found the phone conversation with the customer service person that wasn't documented. They said I tried everything to make my accounts up to date. The exec customer rep person was really nice, but I am really mad. I am thinking about suing them. I've never sued a business before, do I have a case? I was in default and they send us warning letters, but when I called to potentially (would of made the payment over the phone instead of mailing it) make a payment they said the accounts were up to date. Can anyone answer this one or provide advice? Thanks!

payments
GMAC sent my house for foreclosure. I find this out by rec'ing a certified letter out of the blue from their attorneys office. I called GMAC to find out what the problem was, they told me that I had not paid any mortgage payments since April of 07, and it was now Sept 07. I had been paying electronic checks to GMAC. After calling GMAC many times to get the straighten out, and getting rude customer service and litigation employees on the phone I had to retain an attorney of my own. GMAC now has found my payments but now states I have not been current since April of 07. Their customer service is horrible, this litigaion department has treated me like a criminal and my attorney is still trying to get this straighten out. Now GMAC wants me to settle so I pay their attorney fees...I do not think so...they can not keep any of their records straight and anyone who has a problem like this with them, I wish to join forces here, this is unreal...

Poor service!
My car was reposed on Monday, to find information out about this it takes at least a 1/2-1 hour to get through on the lines, the people are very rude. I never had this happen before, recently going through a hard time and ended up be 3 months late by 3 days. Now to get the truck back I have to pay the remaining balance on the truck. I feel like they are not willing to help or work with the customers, if it is a constant habit I understand but this is just recent for me. I will never purchase a chewy vehicle again or get finances through GMAC as they don't want to listen to the customer only want the money.

GMAC scammed us!
My Dad died on may 1st, he owned a Cadillac deville on a lease program. At the time of his death the car was at the dealership being fixed. a $500 deductible needed to be paid at the time.
At his death the Cadillac lease was paid off by the credit life policy. (lease ends july 2008) over a $6000 value. We called to try and get the car from the dealer and couldn't. They said the estate rep needed to be appointed before they could talk to us.
The estate was in probate, so we couldn't do anything for 1 month when my brother received the appointment. With 5 brothers and sisters it took awhile to get done. They all live throughout the U.S.
On june 11 GMAC sold the car on us at auction (giving us 11 days to solve the matter?). They insurance company paid them the full payment of the the remaining lease. that means, they got all there money and the car a year early.
GMAC refused to talk to before june 1st and then said the sent a letter informing us they were selling it. We never received the letter.
Without spending lots a money on attorney fees. We have no chance of receiving anything. They wouldn't let us collect the insurance money, trade the car in, or even transfer the car to anyone other that the estate rep. If I wanted the car I would had to pay $513 fee to get it.
Needless to say GMAC sold the car and my Dad's estate lost $6000 because GMAC wouldn't help us.
Just another example of how bankers, insurance companies and Big corporations screwing the the common man. I will never buy a GM car again!
