GO Chevrolet Reviews

Selling Bad Used Car
I bought a used car from GO Chevrolet in July 2010 and ever since have had problems with the tires and engine on this car. We bought the car from GO Chevrolet because I thought they were a national chain, and because the car is for my young daughter. I made a definite point to the salesman at the time that I wanted some assurance that the car was checked out and safe. The advertisements stated a 50 point check and salesmen made gestures about the reliability of the car. The car we bought was a 2002 Nissan Altima, and at first sight of the car I pointed out that the car had performance tires and wheels and I noticed that the driver’s side tire had a flat. The salesman filled that tire up to take the car on a test drive. When I negotiated the price of the car with the salesman, I made a point for him to show me the 50 point checklist since that was not included in the documents given to me at negotiation. He showed some irritation at having to go find this report, and had to go back into the service area to find the report and gave it to me. I asked that the contract state that the flat tire be fixed before I take delivery of the car, and that was written in and we picked the car up the next day.

Since the time that we drove the car away, my daughter had a constant problem with the tires going flat. My daughter had been filling the tires up with air about every other day to keep them inflated, and the one that had gone flat, she was filling up about two times a day until we replaced it in August. We went to a tires tore in Englewood and they replaced one tire with the same tires the car already had on August 21. At the time we had all the tires taken off the car and the employees put the tires in the bath to watch for leaks. They couldn’t see anything wrong at that time, but were concerned that the rims on the car are aluminum and were just allowing the air to escape from the tire through the porous metal. Two days later, the same tire that was replaced was leaking air and they filled it with a sealant.

One by one all the tires went flat and had to be completely replaced. My suspicion about GO Chevrolet and selling us this car is that when they had the car on the lot, and when we took the car for a test drive and the tire was flat - I have to believe that your company was well aware of the problem with the tires, but sold this car to me and my daughter anyway with knowledge it would be a dangerous and expensive repair. The dealership chose to take no responsibility for the car or answer any of my phone calls or letter. I’ve taken this car to two tires stores and to one mechanic, and they all say the same thing, that the rims on the car were bad and causing the tires to leak. All in all, it cost $1000.00 to replace all the tires and wheels, and an additional $1, 800 to fix the radiator, battery, and a lot of other little problems with the car - ALL WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF BUYING THE CAR!!!
