rip off
About a year ago I purchased a domain name from Godaddy.com. There were now indications that my Credit Card was going to be held on file for automatic renewal. I never used the domain name and when my email started to get inundated with requests from go daddy.com to renew I came to the logical conclusion that my years subscription was ending. In none of the emails that they sent were there any indication of automatic renewal and I was content with letting it run out as I did not want this name any longer. On 06/06/2011 I received an email that my account was being automatically renewed for $109.18 this is after I received an email saying that my account was renewed for $2.99 which I was not worried about and was on planning on getting in touch with them as soon as I could. I contacted customer service and after an exhausting conversation with an agent I spoke to a supervisor who assured me that I would receive a refund, how ever after I filled out their form as per their instructions they still refuse to refund my money.

DOMAIN STOLEN!
My site domain were stolen! I Called godaddy they told me that can't help me if a domain is stolen and that I should have paid $29.99 more for the safety protection plan!! How safe is godaddy? Well, just assume if they break into your godaddy account, say goodbye, farewell to your domains.

billing without authorizaton
Godaddy.com charged my credit card --- WITHOUT MY PERMISSION - an amount of $125.74US and because we are a Canadian Company the amount debited to my card was $128.24 CDN. As soon as I noticed the charge on my credit card I called and after discussion they agreed to refund my credit card. PROBLEM they neglected when issuing the refund to acknowledge that it was an international sale - as a result I was left to pay the discrepancy in the (debit vs refund) exchange rates. Godaddy.com ULTRA AGGRESSIVE SALES PRACTICES; POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE; I WOULD NEVER USE THEM OR RECOMMEND THEM

Deceptive business practices
Renewing of domain names through Godaddy.com is designed to be difficult and confusing. Even though you are selecting a year as you go through the renewal process their system defaults to 2 years. There's no way to review your checkout procedures.

Failure and stupidity
I was sent an email by Godaddy.com that it was time soon to renew my account. Since I never used it I decided that I would not renew it and thus not pay the next years fee in advance. I was unable to log onto my account and after several requests I was NEVER sent help to do so such as password reminder, etc.
In contacting "customer service" all I could ever get was how to fix my problem which was really their problem. I repeatedly emailed them back that they have the problem not me and that I would not be paying for next year. Long story short, they actually had the nerve to attempt to remove from my bank account several days early, the funds for next year, while I'm hotly contesting the situation they actually had the gall to try to steal money from me early! That takes big brass ones! Then they send me a smart a__ email that if I want my service back, cause thank God my old card date provided was out of date, I would have to pay the regular fee PLUS a fifty dollar extortion fee!!! Needless to say if your out there people, please do not use this Godaddy company, the owner sure doesn't need the money and they will NOT let you opt out without a fight!
A truly disappointing company, Bob Parsons, the owner should read his own rules for success, they don't just apply to him. If more news comes in I will keep you informed. I have really had it with this sorry company!

Website Hosting / Administration
Beware of using godaddy.com as your website host. Background: I believe I am a significant customer for godaddy's domain registrations (I have approximately 180 of them registered). I went with godaddy initially due to price and a fairly easy, intuitive, account management system and frankly this side of their business is pretty good and I have always received excellent customer service from that side. Problem: Even though I was warned in advance by a website administrator friend about godaddy's lousy service and response to hosting and remote server related problems, I recently decided to use them anyway for my website hosting due mostly to administration logistics (one-stop shopping) it turns out that was a huge mistake!. My most recent unbelievable issue with them is occurring at present. Late Friday night 2:00 AM, I received an email from godaddy that my virtual server was using too many resources and that if I did not take immediate action to correct them it would be shut down. Apparently I did not respond quick enough as I awoke Saturday morning to find that my website was already down! I guess I will stay up nights from now on in case godaddy should decide to email me in the middle of the night! I tried to login into the server in an attempt to see what on earth the problem was??? I was locked out of the access. I then went to their customer support portal and requested a power reset... 3 hours later, no notice and still no access. I then called their customer service (really nice people), but they could not figure out what was wrong and all they could do is log a ticket for the host administrators to take a look at it. Said it would take up to 24 hours. Well, 24 hours later with no response (still no access to find out what is wrong) I called customer support again... same result, no help, logged another ticket. At this point I was getting upset, called back again and they told me to try the "chat" contact method which gets you directly to the hosting department. I tried this and within a reasonable 5-10 minutes wait, I was chatting with a hosting support agent. He basically told me that I had violated their policy and was using too many resources, so a website administrator had shut me down and that now I had to get "permission and basically apologize for my actions" and then MAYBE then they would reinstate my access. (I still do not have any clue as to what went wrong and since I cannot log on to see what happened, have no Idea what to even do). Anyway being fairly desperate, I kissed their moronic butts about as much as I have ever kissed one before and begged to be back on to at least retrieve my data and to determine what went wrong. They apparently really like their butts licked in this department, because after doing this they said ok, if you promise to immediately take a look at the problem, you will probably be let back in. This takes approximately 24-72 hours. It is now Monday morning 24 hours after my butt licking, no website/server access. Website has been off since Friday night... unbelievable! Unless you are someone who like to kiss people's butts for no reason whatsoever... Stay clear of this company... my websites and 180 domains are going somewhere else as soon as feasibly possible!

Predatory Business Practices
Recently, my website was removed from the web community after and issue with the domain name occurred. GoDaddy, the custodian, was notified of the issue, as well as; the fact that the this name was trademarked and used as part of my DOING BUSINESS AS. The president of the company was notified and advised me of the fact that my domain name would be auctioned regardless and to purchase a $30 domain name back order, as well as, submit documents to their legal department to demonstrate ownership - which I did. It was explained to me that with the back order, I would have the ability to counter bid any offers on my domain name and subsequently procure my domain name. The domain name was sold via auction without notification and opportunity to counter the bid. Further two-days before the purchase, GoDaddy advised me that the domain name was mine and would be in my custodianship within 30-50 days. I maintain through this complaint the following: Godaddy.com sold a encumbered product knowingly and with blatant disregard of legal protection; Godaddy.com sold a service that did not perform as promised; Godaddy.com has caused my philanthropic entity irreparable harm due to its predatory business practices. Godaddy.com single handily wiped out a web community that took 3-years to grow.

The slowest process in the world
When you choose GoDaddy.com, please be aware of the following.
1. Whenever I change directory name, forward domain names, designate directory for domain, or setting up database, it seems to takes forever. In other words, whenever you try to do something on the hosting, or domain control, it just takes too long. I used many other companies domain and hosting service, they are usually immediate.
Now I realize GoDaddy.com is not GoSlowest.com
2. Whenever I request simple application installation which is done by automatic, it just takes forever like 24 ~ 48 hours, which make you impossible to work during weekend. GoDaddy is not business and customer oriented service.
Whenever you use GoDaddy, please do not use their auto-application installation. It is takes days to install simple application.
3. I am not sure but since the news of GoDaddy.com auction sales for its own company, the service attitude has been downgraded, because I did NOT feel any sincere help that their tech service people is willing to solve or help customer.
4. Their survey is only for survey, not for real improvement of service.
From now on, I will not spend any single penny on GoDaddy.com
