Worked for this company for a couple of days and realized it was sa dishonest, misguiding company.
In interview employer said main part of job is testing gold to buy, that it is very easy and makes good money.
In training I found out that they wanted me to harass people walking by in the mall by "dropping my flyers" in front of people to get them to pick them up for me so I could start a conversation about gold, wanting me to "grab" people as they walked by, even if they were trying to ignore me.
Oh well that is all personal issues with me, the major wrong with this company is how they treat employees-
They give you one 15 minute break to inhale your lunch during an 8-9 hour shift, if you work overtime in one week they will "move it around" to the next week to avoid paying overtime, if you are frauded and accidentally buy "fake gold" they will TAKE IT OUT OF YOUR PAYCHECK FOR HOWEVER MUCH YOU BOUGHT IT FOR. If your register is short (for whatever reason, miscount, customer fraud, etc) IT COMES OUT OF YOUR PAYCHECK.
Too much grey area with this company- yes the hourly rate is good but they will be very vague in interview about policies and then expect you to follow dishonest, disrespectful "rules" and not even get a proper lunch break.
Employer (district manager) constantly critizes (even with only a couple days on the job) even though she doesn't do things right.
Watched her count down the register for a good 25 minutes and she yelled at me when I'd look away for a second. Counting that register takes all the other managers less than 10 minutes! That's just one example. Drove me CRAZY. Don't know how they expect someone to learn from someone who doesn't know what they're doing.
Also employer warned of "secret shoppers" watching us and TAKING PICTURES without consent, we would get in trouble if we took a break more than 15 minutes, or if two employees were photographed conversing, or if you took a bathroom break for "too long". WAS NOT informed of these policies at time of hire, would NOT have taken job and wasted time (and quit my other part time job).
Okay deal for customer- just keep in mind that prices of gold and silver change daily and that employee will be chopping up and pouring acid on your jewelry- be sure you want to sell it!
Lastly, district manager has not even bothered to email me back (I quit in person with my kiosk manager but sent district manager an email). Guess I will be checking with her in about two weeks to make sure I get paid for the hours I put into their company.
