Granted, I was rushed and should have taken more time but when I am given someone's word I have a tendency to accept it.
I have been a T-Mobile customer for a number of years. They worked with me when I needed credit after a divorce. I work in a hospital and need to have good service. The phone I had did not work well when I needed it on the job. So one day I'm running through the mall and see a T-Mobile kiosk. Okay, I'll take a minute and check it out. After a conversation with the 'manager' about my problems I take a new phone with the understanding that if it does not meet expectations I will bring it back. It was supposed to be the best one I could get that would work with T-Mobile network. Per our conversation, if I called her within two weeks, the contract renewal would not be turned in and I could bring the phone back for a refund minus $20. The phone did not work any better than the old one. Nine days after the purchase I returned the phone to the kiosk. The 'manager' was not there but the kid spoke with her on the phone as I was standing there. I was told that 'it will be taken care of as discussed'. Meanwhile I go to AT&T to check out what they have to offer. Needless to say, it was better. I switched my number to AT&T. I get my 'final' bill from T-Mobile, go to the office to pay it and am told that it was final, nothing else owed and that Good Deal Wireless is a third party, not really t-Mobile! I have to go back to GDW to check on the phone refund. The poor child at GDW looks in the computer and I am told that yes, all has been taken care of and that the 'manager' I had dealt with was fired. I should be recieving my check soon. (I still have not seen it!) Now I am getting a bill for $228.25 from T-Mobile for cancelation!
Lessons learned: NEVER take anyone at their word! NEVER deal with a third party! NEVER sign anything without reading the fine print and you want it to be finalized.
Conclusion: I will NEVER deal with a third party. I will not deal with T-Mobile ever again and never recommend them again.
As usual, I never expect to hear from either party and my complaint will end up in file 13 or recycle bin. But at least maybe by posting this someone else will not be taken!
