I ordered a blackberry from this website. The company called 2 days later to 'confirm' my credit card, thus delaying the order. The product I received was defective (wouldn't charge). I called the company and asked to return the product without the 15% restocking fee. I was told to email the request. I did. When I called to follow up after hearing nothing for a couple days, I was put on hold forever, and I eventually hung up. I called back and was told to hold and disconnected. On the third call, the company hung up on me without talking. I sent an email asking what was going on and heard nothing. Not wanting to lose the return window, I sent the item back without an rma and sent a letter explaining why, assuming I could dispute with the credit card company.
I disputed the charge with the credit card company and weeks later received a strange call from the company. They would refund the money if I would first call the credit card company and stop the dispute. They admitted that they got the phone back and that it was defective. I asked for something to that effect in writing. When I called back to see where that was a day or two later, I was told they wanted to let the dipute take it's course.
After some time, the credit card company writes back that Good Guys says they never got the unit from me and did I have proof that I sent it back. I faxed a copy of the signature from certified mail.
Then the slam - I receive a letter from the credit card company that Good Guys is suddenly claiming that the serial number on the phone I sent back was different than the one they sent me and that the phone I sent back was damaged by me. Who records serial numbers? This is such a fabrication. So without 'third party' proof of the serial numbers, it's their word against mine and the credit card company cannot refund the dispute.
They're clever, devious and fraudulent. Stay away.
