I see there are a number of us poor folks who have been cleverly bilked out of $72.21 a month for nothing
I see there are a number of us poor folks who have been cleverly bilked out of $72.21 a month for nothing. I too got sucked in for the el cheapo CD, which a previous gentleman has already categorized as being worthless. I couldn't agree more. When I got the Visa bill, I saw the $72.21 charge, which was dated March 15, 2009. Sadly, by the time I had received my bill, the 15th of April had come and gone. It will be no surprise to you that there was another charge of $72.21. I called Visa, who told me that they had not had any trouble with this client???? What??? OK, if you say so. By this time, I had already made 4 calls to the company at 888-657-8585 . All I could ever get was a recording telling me that their business hours are 8 AM to 5 PM mountain time, monday to friday. All my calls were made within that time frame. Couldn't get through. Visa, however, has another telephone number, 888-760-6767 . And Visa got them on the phone for me. The very hard nosed woman on the phone refused any refund at all, saying I had not cancelled within 30 days (unlike the previous mention of 7 days in another post). Since I was unaware that I had anything to cancel, and I called as soon as I got my Visa bill, I find this blatantly disgraceful. Nothing short of theft. You might be happy to hear that yesterday morning (I see it is past midnight now) the Texas State Attorney General has filed a lawsuit against them for deceptive business practices. Any refunds they get can only go to residents of Texas. There is also a small fine of $20, 000 per infraction, so that might put a dent in their bank balance. Please note that the company name, the website, and the 'confirmation' email you get all bear different names. This is a deliberate attempt to mislead. Also note that the price of the CD, $3.95, is written like that. The monthly membership fee is written as seventy two dollars and twenty one cents, not $72.21. Please also note that they put the $72.21 information in grey print, which is a color they use when they do NOT want you to read something. Have you ever noticed those very pale grey boxes at the bottom of some web pages? The ones which are almost impossible to read? The ones with lots of tiny writing? If you see one of those, don't waste your time reading it, just get out of there. There is more info on one of the other scam websites about this company, wherein literally hundreds of people have posted their horror stories.

refund of monthly charges
I have been charged $72.26 each month for a service I have wanted to cancel since I found out it was a scam. How do I stop them from charging my account each month?

Scam charges
My son ordered the "FREE" information kit for google money tree and asked me to take a look at it. I was worried, so went online. I read the fine print, and since he never signed up officially he thought he was okay. NOT! They took the funds out of the bank anyway, $72 that he does not have to throw away! He had to cancel his bank card just to get it to stop!

Refund
Was contacted by email in Feb to get introductory kit for $3.88, paid it and was contacted by a representative a few days later. He said idid not fit the program and hung up. A few days later i noticed a charge from Mony Tree for $72.21 on my card. I called to canceled and was told they could not give me a refund but would cancel the program. A few days later i noticed a new charge for $72.21 on my card. When I called them back i was told i had been canceled out of the old system not their new system, but that would be corrected. I was told it would 7 -10 days to get my refund. After no refund in 7 - 10 days i called bay and was told their was a problem with my refund and it had been sent to corporate and that it would take 7-10 days to get a refund. After 10 days i called and they hung up on me.

Charged monthly fee
I purchased a free how to make money from home cd. I was to pay for shipping $3.88. I was warned by friends not to open cd as it may infect my computer. I never opened it and figured it was a $3.88 lesson. I never agreed to any other charges and was not aware of any further commitment. My credit card fraud department contacted us and told us that we had been charged $72.00 for the past 3 months. I am trying to stop this insanity and am not having a lot of luck. This is a total scam.

additional charge w/o notice
I ordered google money tree disk begining og April, and read that there will be a charge of $3.88. However, I have no clue that there will be additional charge of $72.21 at the end of the month. It's a tricky web site and I hope other people will be more carefull not to siging anything too good to be true. they should mention free trial period or other info if they want to charge additional fee or activation fee later. PLEASE IGNORE ANY GOOGLE MONEY TREE ADD...
