Grammarly.com Reviews

Credit card fraud and lack of customer support
Like half the people here on Complaint Board, I'm having the same problem with Grammarly.com. I signed up for the Annual Subscription only for the 7 day free trial and I never received a confirmation email. But as I signed up the second time, but this time, didn't sign up my credit card/Paypal info, I receivee a email from Grammarly.

And last week, I've been charged because I was too late to unsubscribe from their site and that was because Grammarly doesn't remember my email. So I called them and they told me to take it to customer support. I did that twice already. My first question got deleted and my second one still hasn't been answered 4 days later today.

For the first time in my life, I feel like I've been caught into a credit card scam. I should've looked deeper into this site, but it's my fault for not doing so and we shouldn't be punished for this.

The free 7 day trial is a scam to get your credit card information
Avoid using this site. The free 7 day trial is a scam to get your credit card information. Once the have it, they lose all knowledge of you or your account so you are unable to log onto the site to use their service (beyond the initial sign up) or cancel your account before your credit card is charged. "Customer service" is via email only and they will play dumb and be as unhelpful as they can, if you even get a reply, so they can stall long enough to charge your card. Absolute scam!

Reoccurring Charge
They fail to let you know when you purchase a one or three month plan that they will keep charging you. I'm trying to get a refund on the new charge they did to my card today, even told them I will take this to court if I have to. Don't sign up with them, they will keep charging you!!

Over Billing & Billing On Closed Account
I wanted to check out Grammarly.com - the online grammar checker. I opted for a 1 month only plan. So I was to be charged about USD 20/- for that. Little did I realize that in the reams of fine print they state that despite you choosing a 1-month only plan, they enroll you and keep charging you beyond the month. I called & mailed, but no one returns the calls. The customer service always gos to an answering machine and the sole message I got was a standard blah blah about how Grammarly.com keeps billing to ensure uninterrupted service ; this despite you requesting a 1 month only plan ! I resigned myself to the scam and closed my account pronto. Now the account is closed but I am still being charged. This is the 3 rd months now ! Again calls/support queries are not answered.

To anyone wanting to use Grammarly.com, be careful it is scam ! the software is slow and horrible to boot...
