Grand Crowne travel sells memberships to its travel club for $10, 000.00. For this the member is supposed to be able to buy airline tickets, cruise tickets and stay at posh hotels for greatly reduced rates, not available to the general public. Also, the members are supposed to be able to access resorts not advertised to the public. Sounds Wonderful!

Well, the reality is that when the member gains access to the website they find the rates are not any better than on Orbitz, Travelocity, or any other of the many online travel companies. In fact, their rates may in some cases be higher. When questioned about their higher rates, their excuse is they have not had time to update their website. The only quotes available on the screen when searching for fares, etc. are the Orbitz, Travelocity, etc. sites.

New members cannot view the entire site for 7-10 days. It is about 2 weeks before the consumer realizes they have just paid $10, 000.00 for something that is not as convenient nor as good as what was available for free on the internet.

We have researched this company and found that many complaints have been filed in Missouri, where the company is based. We have filed a complaint with the Attorneys General in both Mississippi and Missouri. We have written many times to request a refund without avail.
This is clearly a rip-off, and should be banned from selling memberships in all states.
