Grand Getaways Vacation Travel Club Reviews

SCAM!
While vacationing in Florida last June we made the mistake of attending an information session from Grand Getaways in order to obtain some discounted theme park tickets. After listening to the lies about cheaper hotels, cruises, and airfares we were ready to leave and collect our discounted tickets, but then the "white haired" man came to our table. He was very pushy and insistant about have a decision right away. He even imposed the idea that if we did not stay and talk to him that we would forfeit our rights to the discounted theme park tickets. I was getting tired of listening to this man's salesmanship, so I then made my second mistake by walking outside and leaving my elderly father alone with this "white haired" man. Upon my return my father had already signed the paperwork and given this man his credit card.

We tried to make the best of a horrible situation by calling to get prices and availability for possible vacations. It has been four months of phone tag and rude representatives and we still haven't been able to utilize this "vacation club". My father was "robbed" for thousands of dollars!

The main purpose of this post is to let everyone know what a SCAM this company is. I know they don't only prey on the elderly, but it certainly seems like they are a prime target. Also...if anyone is interested in or is aware of a class action law suit against these "theives", please let me know and we would be more than happy to join your cause!

Mark Biondi
WOW...I thought I'd heard it all until I saw the comment posted by YOU 'Mark Biondi'. I had no doubt you served in the marines as you stated to my husband & I on my birthday 11/28, at Little Harbor. We, who live in this 'land of the free' are forever indebted to those who serve and will never forget how our men and women put their lives on the line every day to protect our freedom. I myself served in the USAF long before you were born. However, when I served, I learned of things like 'honor, integrity, discipline, respect' and in order to possess these qualities, naturally 'honesty' is included. You may want to brag about your military time served, but you missed the points you should have learned and possessed as an individual while you served and which should have become a part of your charactor after your discharge and into the civilian society as a 'salesmen.' Knowing full well of my impending surgury, our financial status etc...you sold us a 2 week vacation pkg for $6000.00. You also claimed 2.99% thru Bank of America for the life of the loan..'until the day you die, with a minimum monthly payment of $22.20. You are such a LIAR. If the MARINES knew of your deceitful ways or you pulled this behavior while servicing, there is NO DOUBT your discharge papers would have stated: "DISHONORABLE". Stop hiding behind what you used to do and bringing up you service time...start focusing on correcting and making amends to the innocent people who put their faith and trust in you NOW...and stop scamming for a buck. Your behavior has caused us great hardship you wouldn't even begin to comprehend. You are a disgrace and we will never forget how you befriended my husband to keep this sale when he called on 11/29 to find step by step procedures for cancelling. You even lied then regarding huge bank charges thru BOA which we later learned thru them were completely untrue. Just a reminder, "you reap what you sew." Oh, by the way, that photo you attached receiving some honor in the military...didn't have any heads attached to it...funny, huh?!

It's a scam
You can't get prices from them it's almost impossible. I spent more time playing phone tag with them. To be honest this has been nothing but a headache dealing with them. Not to mention once you finally get a hold of them I would always get way better prices than them on hotels. It took three weeks to get a condo price down at Rocky Point Mexico, that I had better prices from Redweek.com on. They had done some more research for a better price. They finally came in with a better price, wow it was like pulling teeth... Why did they not have that price for me to begin with... They're suppose to give me the best prices and they don't. I have to do a ton of work for a vacation club company that I paid for... Believe it or not they don't even know how to research great prices for vacations.. I have to do the work to get prices myself and by the time you get a hold of them they come in with some outrageous prices... oh but don't worry they'll match the price... so basically on every trip that I want to take I have to do all the work to have them match it... so tell me what the heck did I purchase???? It's a Scam...

I called for a price to stay at the Westin in Cancun. I wound up booking it without them, they couldn't touch the price I got... Not to mention it was such a hassle to deal with them... The one vacation I booked with them in Rocky Point it took like two months to get a hotel confirmation from them that we had to continually call and ask for... I paid for this vacation in full like two months ago and couldn't get a confirmation from them. What type of company is this??? They take your money without any type of confirmation??

We had several family members call to get prices they receive the same type of run around. They don't want to use this company either it's way to much work for something you have to research on your own anyhow... What's the point??

I contacted the credit card company and I will not pay a penny more for this type of no service...

Beware of this company it's a definite scam...

Grand Getaways is a big rip-off!
I bought Grand Getaways in St. Martin and according to the US office they are not connected, yet now I am a member. I purchased this travel club to eliminate my traveling problems,(which is what they promise). When I called for airfare, it was priced higher than right off the internet. They had no travel locations available when requested, yet the other travel agencies had plenty. They say they can sell your timeshares with no problems, yet after you pay the money you don't hear from them again. If you call the sales office after purchasing, they claim they satisfy 87% of the time, and I guess I fell into the 13%.

Resort Solutions (supposedly the company that sells your timeshare for you) is probably a one person office that takes your money and doesn't even say thank you. When you call her from the Grand Getaways office to see if she can sell your timeshares, she tells you that they would sell easily because you paid so little, add a couple thousand and in 3 months they would be gone. Six months later, she states they are overpriced and won't sell.

Grand Getaways is a big rip-off.
