I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT TOM MARTINO WOULD ENDORCE A COMPANY SUCH AS THIS.
I PLACED AN ORDER FOR CABINETS AND COUNTER TOPS WITH GRANITE DEPOT IN OCTOBER, AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR IT TO BE COMPLETED.
A MAN NAMED JOEL WAS OUR SALES PERSON (BEWARE). THIS MAN SOUNDED LIKE HE KNOW WHA THE WAS TALKING ABOUT AND WE FELT GOOD WHEN PLACING THE ORDER BUT BOY WERE WE WRONG. THIS MAN CAME OUT TO OUR HOME AND DID ALL THE MEASURING AND TOLD US ALL THE THINGS THAT WOULD GO WELL IN OUR TYPE OF KITCHEN, OR SO WE THOUGHT. HE MADE SO MANY MISTAKES AND SCREW UPS AND SEVERAL OF THESE ARE YET TO BE FIXED. SOME OF THE ISSUES ARE WRONG SIZE CABINETS, WRONG SIZE DOORS, ORDERING OF THE WRONG MATERIALS AND ON AND ON AND ON. AFTER FINDING OUT HOW UPSET WE WERE HE DECIDED TO MAKE A VISIT TO OUTR HOME TO SEE THE ACTUAL PROBLEMS, WELL... SO MANY OF THE CABINETS WERE NOT STAINED PROPERLY AND HAD NICKS AND DINGS AND BROKEN CORNERS AND HIS ANSWER WAS THAT IT IS SOMETHING THAT IS EXPECTED. WITH THESE WORDS HE STARTED TO COLOR AND STAIN THE IMPERFECTIONS IN THE CABINETS WITH MARKERS AND STAIN THAT IS GIVEN TO YOU WITH YOUR NEW CABINETS. I AM SORRY BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE THESE MARKERS AND STAINS ARE SUPPOSE TO BE USED THE DAY YOUR CABINETS ARE INSTALLED BUT ARE FOR YEARS LATER WHEN I SCRATCH OR DENT THE CABINETS. I PAID FOR NEW CABINETS I EXPECTED TO GET NEW CABINETS NOT FIXED ONES. AFTER JOEL LEFT OUR HOUSE WE FOUND SEVERAL MORE PROBLEMS AND WERE VERY UPSET WITH HOW JOEL LEFT US, SO WE CALLED IN A COMPLAINT. WITH THIS COMPLAINT JOEL SHOWED UP AGAIN AND THIS TIME HE HAD 2 MEN FROM THE CABINET COMPANY WITH HIM. THESE MEN WERE UNDERSTANDING BUT STILL MADE IT VERY CLEAR THAT THEY STOOD BY JOEL BUT THEY WOULD ORDER THE NEW PARTS ASAP AND IT WOULD ALL GET TAKEN CARE OF. WELL THAT WAS A JOKE!!
THE CABINETS SHOWED UP DAMAGED AND DENTED. WE WERE TOLD THEY WOULD REPLACE THE PROBLEMS, WHEN THE REPLACEMENTS CAME THE ONE FULL CABINET HAD A HOLE IN THE SIDE OF IT BIG ENOUGH FOR ME TO CLIMB THROUGH (AND THEY WERE STILL TRYING TO DELIVER IT TO ME). OUT OF THE 20 DIFFERENT PIECES THAT WERE BEING DELIVERED THAT DAY ONLY 7 PIECES WERE ACCEPTABLE THE REST WERE RETURNED, AGAIN. DURING THIS DELIVERY SOME PIECES WERENT EVEN ON THE TRUCK EITHER. THAT DAY THE DRIVER CALLED THE OFFICE AND WE WERE TOLD THE INSTALLERS WOULD BRING ALL THE PIECES WITH THEM WHEN THEY SHOWED UP THE FOLLOWING WEEK. WELL, OF COURSE THE INSTALLERS SHOWED UP WITH NOTHING AND KNOWING NOTHING OF WHAT I WAS SAYING (BUT YOU CANT TAKE IT OUT ON THE INSTALLERS). FINALLY WE DECIDED TO CALL TOM MARTINO AND WITHIN 2 HOURS THE OWNER WAS ON THE PHONE WITH US. NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE HAVE NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN. SOME OF THE CUSTOM SERVICE PEOPLE STARTED TO HANDEL OUR CASE (VERY NICE LADIES) AND ACTUALLY STARTED GETTING SOM THINGS DONE. THEY SHOWED UP WITH AN INSTALLER AND DID COMPLETE SOME OF THE WORK BUT IT IS NOW FEBRUARY AND WE ARE STILL WAITING ON SEVERAL PIECES TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT. WE HAVE OUR DINNING ROOM FILLED WITH ALL THE THINGS THAT BELONG IN A KITCHEN. I AM SO SURE THERE ARE SEVERAL THINGS I HAVE YET TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE CABINETS BUT ITS TIME TO TALK ABOUT THE GRANITE. WE ALSO ORDERED GRANITE (SANTA CECILIA) FROM THEM WHEN WE ORDERED OUR CABINETS.
WE PICKED OUT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SLABS (2) OF GRANITE AND WE WERE TOLD THEY WOULD BE MORE THAN ENOUGH TO COMPLETE OUR COUNTER TOPS AND BACK SPLASH. AFTER THE FIRST SET OF CABINETS WERE INSTALLED THEY SENT A MAN OUT TO TAKE A TEMPLATE OF THE COUNTER TOPS, AFTER HE LEFT WE WERE TOLD WE WOULD HAVE THEM IN 10 DAYS ...NOT. I GOT A PHONE CALL AND WAS TOLD SINCE ONE OF THE CABINETS WERE OUT OF SQUARE THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL IT WAS FIXED FOR THE COUNTER TOPS...OOOK. SO WE WAITED AND THE DAY THE NEW CABINET WAS INTALLED THE MAN WAS HERE AGAIN TO TAKE ANOTHER TEMPLATE. WE WERE TOLD THIS WAS NECESSARY TO DO AGAIN BECAUSE GRANITE CAN ONLY BE CUT ONCE, AND BOY DID WE FIND THAT OUT. SINCE THE NEW CABINET WAS INSTALLED THE TEMPLATE WAS A LITTLE DIFFERENT IN SIZE THAN THE FIRST SO IT WAS A GREAT IDEA TO HAVE IT DONE A SECOND TIME, AND ANOTHER 10 DAYS WE WAITED FOR THE GRANITE TO BE INSTALLED...YEA!!! NOT!!! IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 10 DAY WAIT WE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE AMAMZING GRANITE DEPOT TELLING US THAT THE GRANITE WAS NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR THE KITCHEN. THEY FORGOT TO MEAUURE THE COUNTER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY STOVE. I WAS THEN TOLD BY ONE OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE GIRLS THAT SHE WOULD GO HERSELF AND PICK OUT A PIECE THAT WOULD MATCH THE OTHER PIECES PERFECTLY. I AGREED TO THIS WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT IF I DIDNT LIKE IT I WASNT GOING TO ACCEPT IT, AND THEY AGREED. THE INSTALLERS SHOWED UP ABOUT 14 DAYS LATER WITH THE BEAUTIFUL GRANITE, I WAS SO HAPPY FINALLY SOMETHING WAS GONNA GO RIGHT, WELL, I WAS WRONG. AS THEY WENT TO INSTALL THE GRANITE THEY REALIZED IT DIDNT FIT. IT DIDNT FIT BECAUSE THEY CUT THE GRANITE TO THE MEASUREMENTS OF THE FIRST TEMPLATE. AT THIS TIME ALL I COULD DO WAS CRY. THEY DID HOWEVER FIND ANOTHER PIECE OF GRANITE AND DID A RUSH ON IT AND HAD IT INSTALLED WITHIN 2 DAYS AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL.
GETTING BACK TO THE CABINETS HERE IT IS VALENTINES DAY AND I STILL ONLY HAVE HALF CABINETS WITH ONE DOOR MISSING AND NO HANDELS AND SEVERAL DAMAGED DOORS AND DRAWER FRONT THAT HAVE YET TO COME OR EVEN HAVE A DELIVERY DATE FOR...
THIS ENTIRE MESS HAS RUINED OUR THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS EVE, CHRISTMAS, AND NEW YEARS HOLIDAYS SINCE WE ALWAYS HAVE PEOPLE OVER DURING THESE TIMES OF YEAR. IT HAS ALSO RUINED OUT VALENTINES DAY, SINCE ALL OF OUR KITCHEN STUFF IS IN THE DINING ROOM I CAN NOT HAVE A ROMANTIC VALENTINES DAY DINNER FOR MY HUSBAND IN OUR BEAUTIFUL DINING ROOM. I AM COURIOUS TO SEE EXACTLY HOW MANY MORE HOLIDAYS WILL BE RUINED BY THIS COMPANY. I GUESS EASTER IS NEXT.
I AM SURE I LEFT OUT LOTS OF THINGS BUT I AM GETTING TIRED OF TYPING.
