billed prior to when rep. stated
I got involved with this program via an e-mail and was called for conformation on 9-16-09. I told them then I didn't have any interest in the program, but she insisted that I try it for free for thirty days with the exception of a 1.95 charge, so I agreed. Upon checking credit card statements I found that I had been charged $76.21 on 10-7-09 so I called to cancel on 10-14-09 and was informed that it was only 7 days on the trial and that any charges made to my account within the last seven days would be refunded. I thought at that point there would be no problem because I called on the seventh day, but now after two weeks and no resolution I called once more only to be told on two different calls that I wouldn't get a return. This is very poor business practice. first by encouraging under false information and second when I did call within the 7 days from being billed to be told I would not be refunded! Wow! I'm in dismay that you would treat clients in this manner. I certainly hope that this issue will be taken care of soon. Thank you. complaint #595363

unauthorized debit
I ordered government grant information for the small shipping price of $2.95, and was also signed up for a "free" "trial" membership to something I didn't want or need. I asked not to be signed up for anything extra, since the person on the other end of the line was speaking with a thick accent and at the speed of light. I was told when I called the company (after calling several listed numbers from my account which were not the correct numbers) that I had seven days during the free trial period to cancel membership, but chose not to. First of all, I didn't choose to sign up for the free trial offer. My debit card was charged not only the shipping cost, but an additional $76.21 for a membership that I did not want, nor receive. I have not received my grant package, nor any other "free" information. Needless to say the Grant Research Guide customer service person refused to refund my money and told me that I was told in the phone conversation that I had the chance to cancel membership in 7 days, again I did not hear that part or much of that conversation. My account is now overdrawn and I have to pay extra bank fees, and am out a total of $79.16. Scam? Oh I think so!

never received grant packet
i paid the 2.95 and then a 60.00 fee showed up on my statement and i never received the grant packet even after calling them and having a guy tell me that they will send me a confirmation to my email

Charged my visa $60 per month for useless web acess without telling me deceptively advertising a free trial with hidden fine print.

Never got Service - was billed
When I called for a refund the guy actually laughed at me...then talked over me until I hung up. I called back and was successful in getting a refund (actually, we'll see if it processes). ALSO - found out that they use IP authentication for their blast emails. When they have any server configuration changes the recipients email provider (in my case Cox Communications) may not recognize the IP and block the email. I never got the original email - the cancellation email and was billed...

Unauthorized use of my credit card
They billed my credit card 68.71 for services that I didn't authorize. Come to find out the person that calls you is from a Foreign country and they use one system to enter the information. The people that you talk to to cancel are here in the US. they use a different system to pull the information. They are advising me that they talked to me on 05/12 at 5:30. There is no possible way since I work til 6p and have class on Tuesdays. I talked to the lady on 05/13 at 7:30.
The first rep was EXTREMELY RUDE!! he advised that their systems are never wrong.
They will not REFUND my money since they actually billed me on the 7th day. They are suppose to bill you on the 8th day.
I had to talk to 4 reps. NO ONE would give me a supervisor.
I have called the bank and will be disputing this charge. THEY ARE A HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! PLEASE BEWARE.

being charged more than i was told over the phone after i cancelled my account
After I was charged $2.98 for a grant cd, I was informed I had ten(10) days to call and cancel or I would be charged $8.95 a month after that. I called and cancelled my account and was told no other charges would be made to my credit card, however $68.21 was charged to my credit card and I expect to have that refunded immediatley to me because I was lied to by your representative over the phone. Do not charge me for anything else because I have cancelled the account.
