I too signed up for the Google Treasure Chest CD for 1.97, this was back on April 20th. Following the 7 day free trial, my bank account was hit for a $72 dollar charge. A little info about my bank account, I only keep about $15 in that account at all times, so this little charge cost me an overdraft fee of $39. I immediately had all of the charges reveresed, including the overdraft, and I called and canceled the "membership" that I didn't sign up for. I thought that this problem was resolved. Today I got an email from the Grantspring.com thing saying I was going to be charged $24.97 for my membership.
WTF? I call the customer service center, which is in Costa Rica, I get a cancellation number, my bank refused the charge because my account is at a balance of $0.00 thanks to a garnishment that cleaned out the $72 refund from Treasure Chest. The customer service center couldn't give me a contact phone number because they don't have one. I just emailed the AG in Utah. I can't believe that companies can exist like this, and then share financial information from one company to another.
I really want to reach the computer and drag whoever is responsible for these sites into my world. Just give me five minutes, alone with them.
