I authorized a charge of $1.98 to my Discover Card for a CD. On 11/22/08, it was charged. Then on 11/30/08 an unauthorized charge of $59.95 was charged, then on 12/7/08 another unauthorized charge was charged. I called my credit card company who said they would check on it for me. I called the number for the company doing the charging, and was unable to get through to them. When I authorized the $1.98 charge, I read the whole thing very carefully and there was no other charge mentioned. The credit card representative said that the company who made the charge said there was a box that was checked, and that I was supposed to uncheck it if I didn't want extra charges. This is not true, and I know that I was scammed. I don't understand how they can get away with stealing from us this way. I went to the company's website and read 8 other complaints for the same thing that happened to me. www.grantssc.com. I am on social security and cannot afford for this to happen.
