Graybar Electric Reviews

employee treatment
You know I hear all Graybar employees across the country about how unfair traetment is. They pay WAGE that is so far below standart I am about ready to work at Mcdonald's as a cook and probally get better pay there, also the treatment here @ LACA is very very unfair, they reward you on a good job by giving you 2% wage increase, but when you are starting @ 13.00 an hour that is not very much. I have heard of guys here not getting but .90 cents for four years of service which is really bad. There is also some much favoritism hear, you have a manger who is really scared to do anything but pretend he is on your side but if you need to work more you get in trouble well his godson who is a leadman does not do a damm thing and is so not experienced for the postion but rather got it becuase of family, then you got his other family member on day shift that does what ever he wants becuause he can. It is so sad hear you have guys that clock out and keep on working because they do not want to get in trouble, we are pushed not to work overtime, but they still still want a perfect job no matter how fast we go if there 10 hrs of work they slave you and tell you '' why are we so slow today'' as if we are not working. It is very bad here and not getting better that is why I am trying to get out before to late...

EMPLOYEE MISCONDUCT
The telecommunications account rep. apparently indulges in telling his accounts/companies who purchase telco products from Graybar Electric who to hire in their companies and who not to hire. He told a customer of his not to hire a certain individual due to the fact that he did not like him and that he usaually does business with his competitor. He scared the customer so much with lies that they were afraid to hire the person. He uses his position to play games with peoples livelyhoods.. I just hope that karma or a laywer get to him for payback

Lousy treatment of employee
Graybar is an employee owned company which has been around a long time, was incorporated in 1925. Some branches of this company seem to think it's still 1925. The branch in Canton, Ohio is more backwards than The Beverly Hillbillies. They seem to think that the way to manage the branch is to remove or demote employees who are hard working and whose values and ideas don't serve the best interest of the person in charge there. This manager's title is "Sales Manager" yet he is in charge of every aspect of the entire branch and he has to micromanage everything. He also likes to insult his employees, especially the ones who could probably do his job blindfolded. He recently "laid off" an employee who had experience in sales and had progressive ideas on how the sales deptartment should go out and prospect new accounts (this does NOT happen there) He was told that the reason for his lay off was because his job position was eliminated. The position was filled by another employee who's position was actually eliminated, but because he was favored by the branch manager he was given the other employees job and the latter was basically let go unjustly. Another employee who was a driver was trained in all of the aspects of the warehouse and was then demoted to "material handler" without even being told and runs the warehouse himself with little or no help from anyone else. The employee at the counter has been there for thirty plus years, has reached retirement age, barely does his job, chronically returns late from lunch, is gone half of the time (no kidding, has been taking every Monday and Friday off for the last two months) is constantly making sexual remarks ( customers have indicated their displeasure at this ) but is not told to retire, is not touched by the manager for any of this because he is in "retirement mode". I would like to know what the manager would think of one of the employees who may end up being in "Sexual Harassment lawsuit mode". I mean, some of the remarks this guy makes sounds like he came crawling out of a hole somewhere. I would really like to know what year this manager thinks it is. He has no people skills whatsoever and yet he "manages" every aspect of this branch. He needs to go back where he came from (K-Mart) and what Bozo put him in charge anyway? I wouldn't recommend employment at that branch of the company to my worst enemy.
