Three weeks ago while traveling in Michigan, I changed the oil in my Harley and to my suprise I found the oil pan plug had been apoxied in place. I contacted the dealer (Greeley Wild West Harley) and they recommended I bring the bike in and they would look at it. They admitted goofing up with the bike by using apoxy. This dealership was the last one to changed the oil in the bike when I purchased the bike last August. Come to find out after the oil had been drained to check the apoxy issue they replaced the old oil back into the bike. When I brought the bike home (driving a total of 10 miles) I checked the oil and it was dark brown. I called the store manager Steve and asked if the old oil had been put back in the bike. His reply was "well, you didn't send it in for an oil change." I complained that once the oil is removed it is exposed to dust contaminants and could be a bad deal for the bike. So, he said he would look into it and get back to me. He returned the call a few minutes later and assured me they did NOT put the old oil back in the bike. Remember, he implied initially that the old oil was returned into the bike since it was not in for an oil change... So, I checked the oil and it was dark brown...not like fresh oil that had only gone 10 miles. Steve denied any wrong doing. To make matters worse, when I changed the oil pan to put a new one on (due to the apoxy) The oil was not only old, but there were two huge chunks of apoxy at the bottom of the oil pan with several smaller pieces in the oil.
I filed a complaint with the Corporate office and was told nothing could be done. No compensation for the bad business at the Greeley shop ... not even an apology. This is bad business!!! BEWARE !! Lost my business.
