I had a terrible experience with green4gold.com. I sent them ~230 pennyweights of gold to assess. They verbally gave me an assessment of my gold that was considerably lower in gold content than I had tested my gold to be. Later, they gave me a written statement that was different than the verbal statement but still significantly lower than my assessment. They made several guesses (admitted on their part) as to the content of my items. I had a watch that I wanted them to evaluate for value greater than the scrap gold value. When it was determined that the watch was most valuable as scrap, they wanted to guess the weight of the movement (working components) of the watch. I had weighed the watch without the movement, and I informed them of the actual weight of the watch. They told me I had made a mistake, and that the movement probably weighed "4-5 pennyweights". After much debate, they eventually removed the movement and determined that I was correct. I wanted them to send my gold back, but they wanted to charge me a $159 charge because I had locked in a gold price. However, they breached the implied contract by not evaluating my items properly. Please beware of doing business with this company! They will apply any value to your items they see beneficial to them, and then hold your gold hostage until you pay them fees!
